Detective Sept Savoie is a cop who thinks making a relationship work is harder than catching a serial killer, but her current case may prove her wrong.

Six months after Hurricane Katrina has devastated most of New Orleans, detective Sept Savoie is battling the nightmare of everything the storm has taken from her when a brutalized body turns up behind one of New Orleans's most famous restaurants, which is run by Keegan Blanchard. The more Sept works through the clues, the more they point to Keegan, which makes the relationship growing between them anything but love at first sight. The first death is only the beginning, though, as the miles of deserted neighborhoods Katrina left behind provide the perfect stage for murder.

A Sept Savoie Romantic Thriller.

Having lived through Katrina and it's aftermath, this book brought back a lot of dark memories. I know this was a work of fiction, but the author did a good job in painting the city during a dark time. It was easy for me to visualize the places I loved the characters. I loved the name Sept, being the seventh and last child in my own family. The book made me laugh and had me on the edge of my seat. Very entertaining!

Interesting read . . .

The basics... a detective must find a killer. Ms Vali takes you to the aftermath of Katrina, in search of a killer. Each chapter brings a clue, a twist, and a turn. New Orleans is explored; religion is brought up; and family is always important. The characters were developed and the audible reader was able to bring the New Orleans, southern bell accent, to life with each character and each word. The question is, “Will you find the killer before Sept?” Hint... Sept is pronounced Set in French.

Twist, turn, back up, race forward, this book will surprise you.

story overall was very well written with an excellent plot. It had me on the edge of my seat until the end. Narrator was okay, but clearly not able to do a southern accent (Keegan sounds like she's from Long Island or Boston) and not great with male voices.

Twisted suspense

This is a great story by a great author. Ali Vali creates wonderful believable characters. The story keeps you on your toes right up until the very end. Paige McKinney hits the New Orleans accent on the head. She does a great job making the story come to life. A must for you if you are looking for a wonderful audiobook.
