Publisher's summary

She expected to die saving her world....

Magna's existence was once filled with laughter, love, and joy. Her life changes in a single night when a mysterious object falls from the sky into the ocean, and she wakes to find herself held captive in her own body.

As the centuries pass, she becomes known as the Sea Witch - a creature who is feared and reviled. Her efforts to save the Seven Kingdoms and destroy the alien creature living inside her should have ended both their lives - instead, Magna wakes to find herself in a strange, new realm.

Gabe Lightfoot and his best friend, Kane Field, have stood side by side through thick and thin. Brothers by circumstance, they have seen the darker side of life and lived to remember it. When Gabe rescues a wounded woman in the waters off the coast of Oregon, they have no idea what's in store for them.

It doesn't take long for Magna to learn that she is no safer in this new world than she was in her own. Fearful of endangering the two men who have taken her under their wing, Magna is torn between trying to return to her world or staying in this one. The choice may be decided for her when strangers come to town searching for clues regarding a series of strange disappearances. Can Gabe and Kane protect her from those who would lock her up to study her, or will the curse of the Sea Witch destroy them as well?

Contains mature themes.

fantasy romance with suspense

This is a fantasy romance with suspense, done light but right by Smith. Happy to say I originally got to read this story through my previous Audible Escape plan. Yay me! (Still prefer it over the mish mash that is in Originals. But big YES to Words and Music.) It took me a while to purchase these titles and now to make sure they all get a review posted.
This book is best enjoyed when read in series order. I’m happy that SES wrote a better ending and future for Magna after so many years of fighting off the alien entity. Good for her that she found two men to love her and, hopefully, balance out those years of suffering. Nothing is said about their life spans vs Magna, though we know she’s already about 250 years old.
Brenin does his usual great job of narration, particularly with emotions and differentiation between characters.

It's never too late for a second chance

I have listened and/or read most if not all of S.E. Smith's books. This is a story that I have been waiting on for a while now. We first meet Magda way back when The Dragon's Treasure where she was doing naughty things and had everybody wanting to kill her. Now we know why she was doing those things however it doesn't matter that she was possessed the only thing that matters is everybody wants her dead.

At the end of A Witch's Touch everyone things that Magna is dead including the reader for a bit; however in SE Smith's world that is not the case. We come to learn in this book that Magda not only lives but she is a getting a second chance at life.

I have this thing about MFM relationships and I was a little bit apprehensive when it comes to this story. Even though SE does a very tasteful job when it comes to this kind of relationship you just never know what is going to happen from book to book.

I love the fact Magna gets her ending however one of the issues I really have is the fact that she can no longer go back to where she was born. The fact that she has to stay in this human world is a bit unsettling to me because there is always the fear that she will be found out that she is not human. Also what is going to happen when they have kids? I just know that at some point in time the kids that Magna has with Kane and Gabe might want to know their origins and want to know more about their heritage. Also will Gabe and Kane live longer because of Magna or are they all going to die of old age like regular humans? I really hope to see all three of them in the Seven Kingdoms and not in the human world.

Other than those couple of issues I had with it I love their story and I love the way that Gabe and Kane complemented one another and the way that they took care of Magna.

I love David Brenin and I am so glad that he narrates most of S E Smith audiobooks. I just feel a certain connection to him and I feel that he is part of my family and a sort of way. Whenever I hear his voice I know things are going to be good.

Hold onto your butts!

Love this series and the interwoven storylines, this one was even hotter with a polyamorous theme. Hats off to SE Smith for making this a "believable " interaction in a fantasy based format. Thanks for the great story

I love every book in this series until now...

This was the weirdest book. It totally reminds me of the disconnect in watching Game of Thrones and how you could CLEARLY tell when the tv series was no longer following George R.R. Martin's story and was now being written by someone else.
It was like this book was written by a totally different author. I loved the first 3 books in the series - they had great stories lines, romance but not over explicit sex scenes, well developed characters. This book had none of that. The threesome sex was just weird, the characters were completely flat, and the storyline was going no where. I never finished. I'm going to ask for a refund (Audible is great about doing that if you don't like a book).
If you start the series - to stop with book 3.

My least favorite

I did not like this one, compared to the first 3 tales. I ran through fast, just to get to the next story.
