Publisher's summary

A FAMILY VACATION. AN EXPLOSIVE DISASTER. A DESPERATE STRUGGLE TO GET HOME.

Pilgrimage is a stand-alone post-apocalyptic story of survival. It was previously published as three separate novellas: Crossing, Refuge, and Advent.

High School teacher James Rockwell is vacationing in Maine with his family, when an earth-changing explosion sends them on a race for their lives. Their first step is escaping an island in the midst of a tsunami, and it only gets more dangerous from there.

Can they find their way home as civilization crumbles around them? And if they do, what horrors will they find?

It's a bullet-train of a thriller riding on the edge of the rails to the last page.

Great book

Very interesting. Great narration. The time stamp gets annoying after several chapters. But the characters and their need to evolve into someone new really comes out.

Mostly good

Very good story, entertaining and excellent reading.

He goes a little bit much in to describing detailed feelings that people have at times almost seeming like a Romance book.

The other thing that is as annoying as could be is that very regularly he always puts in there “day 21 seven hours four minutes status post event Tulsa Oklahoma”. It gets quite annoying. Fix that and he’s got Five out of five. I’ve listen to almost all of his books which are done very well.

I Couldn't Stop Listening

I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book. Tom Abrahams is an excellent author. His writing is very detail oriented - even naming specific pharmaceuticals, street names and several pop culture references. This story is likely a good representation of events should an actual "event" occur.

Kevin Pierce is a masterful narrator. From the moment I started I could not turn it off.

Great post apocalyptic story

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Once again Kevin Pierce does a great job bringing a post apocalyptic story to life with his narration. I really enjoyed the story of Rock coming into a man who thrives in the post apocalyptic world.

How to survive when the vacation goes all wrong

This is the story of a fairly average family on the the eastern seaboard. They go away for vacation and relax. It's anything but relaxing as the world falls apart for them. A event happens and it forces them to struggle to survive and escape . How? Where?

The characters are well rounded and believable. Some are good, the majority are somewhere in the middle. They type that want to be left alone and mind their own business. The ones when your car is broken down just drive by and don't even bother making eye contact. The bad ones are really bad. They type that become criminals and are very dark. I mean really bad news. Yes they run into those too.

So what happened ? How do they survive.? I won't tell. Give it a listen it’s a good tale of survival.

I was given this book to review . I listened to it twice and my opinions are my own

What happened

I liked the characters and the story was pretty good. There were areas that I felt like could have been expanded on but overall it was different. Still would like to know what actually happened to start it all.

A solid post apocalypse story

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I picked this book up because I've enjoyed many of Kevin Pierce's other books. As a narrator, he's very engaging and fun to listen to. The story is your typical post apocalypse survival plot. It wasn't anything new or unique but it is well executed. All in all, the characters were interesting and you cared about them. Worth checking out if you are a fan of the genre.

Decent Post-Apocalyptic

I totally enjoyed listening to this book as enjoyed the characters especially James a physic teacher, Leigh, Max and Sloane. They struggled to survive a tsunami while on vacation and meet up with veterinarian Steve who helps to save James. They meet obstacles while trying to get home running into good guys and bad guys. When they finally get home their house has been taken over. What would you do to save your loved ones? I also recommend the author’s Travelers and the Alt Apocalypse series. Recommend to anyone who likes post-apocalyptic/dystopian with good narration. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you
