In 1691, the town of Crossfall taught the witch Thessaly how to die. They beat her, they shot her, they hung her--but nothing worked. When they finally tried to bury her alive Thessaly set the field against them. The first man died as a gust of wind harrowed the meat from his bones. A root, flung like a dirty javelin, cut a second man down. Many more deaths followed. The Preacher Fell impaled the witch upon her very own broom but she dragged him down into the field to wait for three more centuries.

Three hundred years later Maddy Harker will murder her bullying husband Vic. She will bury him in the field as she buried her abusive father years before that. The very same field where the revenant spirit of Thessaly Cross lies waiting.

In three days Vic will rise again - a thing of dirt, bone and hatred.

Men will call him the Tatterdemon. And hell--and Thessaly--will follow!

I listened to it in parts (also available) but I recommend you get this one, because you'll want to listen to it as one book. I'd say it's a must for any horror fan. It's a good story, and finally, something new! Vernon writes some great stuff. Narrated very well too.

A unique horror novel

I actually quite liked this book. Very remeniscent of the old 90's horror movies in it's feel. The narration is well done and the southern fried dialog was very entertaining. It's twisted and fun. Well worth a try if you like the horror genre.

Thessaly Cross the witch in book one was tortured, burned, shot at, hung and buried alive. In book 2 there many characters to follow in the town of Crossfall goes insane and the dead rise. I enjoyed Maddy, Big Daddy (ghost) and Marvin; Maddy killed her violent husband Vic who comes back as well as other ghosts. Book 3 (I felt the best and blended with 1&2) was the longest where you have to survive the scarecrows, good old fashion horror and the characters from book 2. Recommend if you enjoy horror and folk tales with good narration. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

The Tatterdemon Omnibus: All Three Books of the Tatterdemon Trilogy in One Collection - A great read and entertaining from first page to last. The trilogy moves along seamlessly between books.
The characters are larger than life and the descriptive writing of Mr Vernon is superb.
Rick Gregory's narration is excellent and he adds so much to the enjoyment and black humour of this book.
