Anna Cole grew up poor, but her mother's love made her feel rich every day. Then her mother died, and Anna was sent to a care home. What a complete surprise this book was. It was so good! I loved the characters and wow, the narrator is the author? She did a superb job both in writing and narration. I cannot wait to check out more Amanda Prowse books.

Anna is heartwarming, yet heartbreaking story of a little girl who faces one tragedy after another, as she reaches adulthood. Through it all Anna shares how she gets through it, while remembering her beloved mother’s advice and unconditional love. I’m excited to read the next book in the series, Theo, told from the perspective of the love of Anna’s life!

Amanda Prowse continues to be a stellar story teller!

Wonderful. Rare. Beautifully narrated by the author herself. I can’t recommend it enough for those who love wonderfully written novels about people who come to full life, with all its love and heartbreak, through the written and spoken word. Anna B. and Theo, Jorden, Lisa and Mellissa, Anna’s mom and others you’ll be glad to meet. If you like this kind of thing, that is.

Now, I can’t wait to get to know Theo more deeply.
