Society bachelor and former army sniper Ben Benedict moves between two worlds - from high-society Washington to the mean city streets, from tuxedos to Glocks. His powerful Virginia family wants him out of harm’s way, but Ben stays on the job, determined to make amends for a past that haunts him. Dr. Anna Schuster is fighting demons of her own when she crosses paths with Agent Benedict. The two become adversaries - and lovers - as they search for an Al Qaeda operative bent on revenge. Ben must fight against time - and his own darkness - to rescue millions of innocents and the woman he loves from a virulent bioweapon in the hands of a dangerous enemy.

I have enjoyed this author’s stories in the past. However, I will avoid any further books she narrates herself. The production was shocking and I’m actually surprised that Audible have it available on their site. She stumbles over words, stops and rereads, the sound quality is harsh and difficult to listen to. This is a shame as the actual story is quite good. When I looked through the catalogue for others by this author, I found many narrated by her. What a shame. I rarely review and I only do so now to say, use a credit for the author, but never if she is narrating her own book. Based on this performance I certainly would never do so again.

This author should NOT narrate!

When I pick one of her books to read, I know I will love it. She draws me in with characters I will grow to care about and stories I can get immersed in.
The Benedict brothers is all that and more. I can't wait for the next one.

Joan Johnston never let's me down!
