Publisher's summary

After one of their number is killed for the first time in recorded history, the entire divine world unites to eliminate the murderer, our hero, Lacerto. To survive the oncoming storm of several pantheons of angry gods, he must gain powerful allies with a grudge against the gods. Fortunately, after millennia of abuse, many, many, many deadly monsters are chomping at the bit to strike back at their oppressors, with a weapon that can finally hurt them. But are Lacerto's allies more dangerous than his enemies? And can he stop the machinations of the goddess of war as she uses the chaos he caused to bring about the end times?

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first.

It's still a little interesting, but I was hoping that the end of the last book meant the character had evolved and became something more, but I was wrong. It feels like the character is no different than before and is only trying to keep his promise to his ally and not to the other character from book 1. I listened hoping that it would get better but it did't not for me anyway. It's still a little funny but towards the end it just was a to be continued book, The librarian mystery never got solved.

Humorous & Witty Sequel

This was a really good sequel! After Lacerto defeated his imprisoner, the whole pantheon is out for his head. He must find allies to help him and he picks many powerful and deadly monsters who hold grudges against the gods. While this is all going on, the goddess of war is using the mess he made to bring the destruction of the world. The characters were all likable, unique, and witty and always had you guessing what would come next. I don’t think I can get enough of Lacerto’s sidekick and his snarky personality. Once again, there were tons of humorous and violent moments with a lot of alcohol and cursing.
Christopher did another great job with this narration! I love the different voices that he gives each character and how easy it is to distinguish them. He knows how to bring the story to life and keep you engaged from start to finish!

Didn't even finish this short story.

While I don't mind some swearing. I bought this book for a short ride with my nieces. After the third what the fuck. We changed to a more appropriate story. Like my grandma said those words are for uneducated.
