Great Story

The narrator of Jake didn't match his character. Made him sound like a weak man.

Discussing the Performance

Just like most reviewers, I really liked the story. It was not as easy for me to figure out as I thought I’d be able to do, and that’s what made it so enjoyable.

Several commenters have said something about the performance. Actually, I think that the narrator was quite good, but he just was not good for this story. I could hear him narrating, say, the biography of John Wayne, but not a BWWM romantic story. So I would say that for a narrator he’s good, for a BWWM narrator, he’s not. For this story, I think the voice of a younger American black woman would have been far more appropriate.

I look forward to “reading” more stories by this author.

Wrong Narrator

Reading the summary, it looked like it was going to be great for me. But, I couldn’t get past chapter 3. Truly cringeworthy. This narrator was all kinds of wrong for this particular story. I wasted my time and money on it.

Although the Narrator Wasn't Right, I Liked This..

Yeah it was predictable and the narrator seemed to be reading the book to himself, and someone recorded it. He wasn't all bad but his just isn't his genre of books to narrate. He could easily narrate westerns or apocalyptic novels. However, as cheesy as it was (sex scenes), I still liked this book and was interested in finding out how it would all end. A good edit and new narrator and this story would be perfect.

Story is awesome

The voice almost ruins the entire story. I should have just ordered the non voice version on Kindle. The narrator must have come extremely cheap as in free.
