Taboo Love

OH MY GOODNESS the heat in this book. We continue right where we left off from book 1 and we get to know Sy better and learn of his secrets. Brax explores more of his feelings for men and Leia is still struggling with her love for Sy and her feelings for Brax. Danger and hot sex is ranped in this book. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens.

Jacob Morgan, Aaron Shedlock, and Lacy Laurel are fantastic in this book. 5 stars for sure. They were perfect as these three characters.

I received a code to listen and give my honest opinion. I am hooked on this series and chomping at the bit for book 3. Loved the hot taboo story and the narrators were great. Perfect timing, their voices were spot on as these characters and so enjoyable to listen to. I highly recommend this book but listen to book 1 first.

Threw in the towel

This series had a lot of potential but I'm not going to see how things pan out.

First off- The titles are short and even though the story is engaging, it's too pricey to get to the end.

Second, and equally important- the female narrator is AWFUL! She sounds like a Valley-teen the way she sing-songs through each of her chapters. Also, they are supposed to be Puerto Rican but she comes off sounding Irish or Scottish sometimes. When she performed the male characters she sounded nasally and creepy. The actual male narrators were both good, but I literally cringed every time a new chapter started back with her. I looked for the books on Kindle to avoid her but I couldn't find them so I'll just have to conjure up a HEA for them on my own.

Next- the h started unraveling more and frankly got on my nerves. There were hidden things from her past that, now that they were divulged affected her pretty significantly, even though there was no mention of any trauma about this prior to the new (later) disclosures. I also despise when characters are high & mighty doling out accusations and judgement for the exact things they are equally or more guilty of themselves.

Lastly- the back & forth reflection on prior events started becoming repetitive and monotonous. I wondered if they were added as filler to stretch these mini-books into a less embarrassing length.

To wrap up, all the potential this series holds is drowned out by the horrible female narration and astronomical cost to get the whole series that should never have been more than a Duet. Save yourself multiple credits and wait for the series to be bundled with new/better narration.

Age gap, with some MM, and MMF scenes

In Lasts we rejoin Sylas, Leia, and Braxton. This time they take a trip to Puerto Rico for Leia's 18th birthday. These characters have so much sexual tension and chemistry it is crazy. I am anxious to listen to book 3, Always.

Wild and Crazy Ride!!!

I will be very honest, I was not exactly a huge fan of Firsts, but Lasts definitely turned things around for me a bit. Lasts picks up with Leia and Brax in Puerto Rico, along with Sy and Leia's mother and father, which makes for some added excitement. Lasts alternates between the past and present and provides a lot of information about the past in relation to Sy, and Sy's relationship with Leia's father as well as Sy's overall personality and relationships. Lasts also offers some more insight into Brax and his friendship with Leia and his feelings for her, as well Brax's overall sexuality.

I liked that while there was large sexual theme, Lasts also had more story development than Firsts. There were definitely some jaw-dropping moments and Lasts does end on a cliffhanger so I can't wait wait to see what happens with Leia, Brax and Sy. This has definitely been a wild and crazy ride!!!

I think Aaron Shedlock and Lacy Laurel did a good job with the narration in this story, which I feel like could be tricky at times with the language change at times and accents. I really, really enjoyed the addition of Jacob Morgan to the narration of this story as Brax, as he is one of my all time favorite male narrators . I am of course bias since he is one of my faves, but he did a fabulous job and I enjoyed his addition to the story. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Great Read

Lasts: Cape Hill, Book Two was a great read by C.L. Matthews. This book has many taboos and suspense. It follows Leia, Silas and Brax with their powerful stories. I really enjoyed that this book gives you many insights into the characters. I enjoyed reading this book and the characters stories. Lacy Laurel, Jacob Morgan and Aaron Shedlock did a great job of narrating the characters. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer
