The haunting is often the imagination of the haunted...or is it?

For Charles Gottesman, old Mr. Sherman’s death sparks one of the wildest, weirdest adventures he’s ever had....

Upon Mr. Sherman’s death, Charles learns the rich old gentleman gave away all his money, leaving only his Victorian mansion and the huge library in the house. His will clearly stipulates the new owner must keep the library intact. Of course, with Mr. Sherman being dead, how would he know or even care about the library?

It isn’t until Charles buys the house and discovers someone has stolen items from the library that he understands the significance of keeping the library intact. Mr. Sherman’s letter to the new owner shares the secret of the library - every item in the library is haunted! But how can Charles ever imagine just how deadly the library keeper’s job is…or the blood bath that will follow if he fails to “protect and serve” according to Mr. Sherman’s will?

This was a wonderful new twist to “haunted house” stories.

I like how the story was developed in a precise logically stopped. It was interesting to see the “six degrees” of separation Brian the characters.

Jake Urry did an incredible job with the narration.

I love the idea of this book, it is one novella with a bunch of short stories wrapped into one. So Mr. Sherman is a creepy old man in a creepy old house. After Mr. Sherman dies, Charles, who had been in the house as a boy, decided he wanted to buy it. The house came with a strange request however, all the contents of the library must be sold with the house and never leave. Charles was ok with that so he made the purchase and moved in. Unbeknownst to him there were already tenants within the house's walls. Sherman's collection is a group of haunted military artifacts, possessed and cursed. If they leave the confines of the library, they will unleash their curse on others. This book can go so much further....I hope Mr. Ripley keeps writing about Sherman's collection and Charles adventures! I absolutely loved it! Narration was spot on. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Love these stories! I require more! (spoilers)

The story was really good, sets up lots of lines for the future stories. There were several instances where you hear 'She said, he said.' a little annoying but to be honest I don't know if that is due to the written story or to narration. The narrator is no Thom Bowers!

Great story, poor narration

I loved this creepy story about a man who collected haunted militaria through out his life and all the struggles he went through to keep these items from being out in the world. I look forward to listening to more stories from this author.
