“He seems like a bad influence.”

Beau’s been hearing about his brother’s best friend, Trick, for years - and has made his disapproval of their friendship known in more ways than one. Beau’s a steady, solid, set in his ways kind of guy, and he just wants his brother to do well in life…but this Trick guy is at the root of every mischievous story his brother tells.

"I’m not afraid of being who I am and wanting what I want. Are you?"

Patrick thrives on spontaneity, mischief, and mayhem. Injured in a car accident in his teens, he hasn’t let his limited mobility hold him back from experiencing all life has to offer. And when life offers up a cute vet just when he needs help for his service dog, Pepper, who is he to turn it down?

Welcome to Sunnydale Vets, where love is the best medicine, and all it takes to fix your problems is the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get to work. This heartwarming audiobook features mpreg, an omega who isn’t about to let his disability get in the way of living his best life, a handsome veterinarian who needs to learn how to loosen up, and one heck of an awkward identity reveal.

The idea of "human" Alphas and Omegas completely accepted as commonplace and ordinary in everyday society, whether it be a tight-knit small town in Ohio, brand name universities and big cities is novel. I liked that the main characters of each story did finally accept their love fate and married (of course, the all Omegas got pregnant first), but I found myself making comparisons to shifter mpreg stories where "mating and marking" of each other as fated mates (because of their unique smell only they can pick up) is the first order of business as a couple. I had no issue with the different conflicts between the main characters, BUT when the Omegas (who were highly educated all professionals) became whiney, emotionally unhinged babies (even before giving to love and becoming pregnant), that was was too over the top. The narrator's voices during those times in the dialogue was far too flamboyant for comfort, as was his uber-flamboyant and sing-songy Sunny voice. In general, I most like his voice for Archer and his dad (they also were my favorite characters, funny and real). The stories about the different pets in the vet clinic were amusing. I was disappointed with several areas of the stories. 1. The stories ended when there was a proposal, not all had an informative post wedding epilogue. Still I felt all of the stories left me hanging, even tough there was a "HEA", Nothing about married life and parenthood. I wanted to know what became of the couples after they married. The last story did explain who was pregnant again and who had second children, but Sunny and Dale's son was the only child who had a storyline in one of the stories. 2. Clearly, the characters were not shifters, but they were able to easily determine who was an Alpha or Beta, and smell arousal., but I honestly missed the animal shifter aspect to provide more depth to the stories. 3.Also unlike shifter stories, no mention of Betas. What were the females in the the stories? Not quite convinced to listen to another story by this author or the narrator, unless it is his regular voice.

Interesting Non-Shifter Alpha and Omega Premise

Review - This was such a fun collection of stories. Loved all the guys from Sunnydale office. I listened to the audio version and really enjoyed it.

1 - Dog Days of Summer - Beau, Patrick - I love these two and how they just connect with each other without knowing who they are. You also get to see that Beau has to figure things out. Glad that things worked out for them.
2 - Like Cats and Dogs - Ronan, Oliver - This story has the familiar enemies to lovers trope. There was such a quick connection but it works so well for the characters.
3 - Cat's Got My Tongue - River and Weston. - Your past really does have an effect on your present and in this story we see how bullying in the past has an impact on both the bully and the one who was bullied. I liked the way this story develops and how both of these men have to really think about what they see going forward.
4 - Cat and Mouse - Zayden, Elliott - There is humor in the this story when life gets out of hand a little lie blows up. It was great to see these two give each other a chance and find a way to move forward.
5 - Horse of a Different Color - Kohen, Archer - I loved the sweetness between these two and was so glad Archer got a story. There are moments in this story that caused some tears but the ending is perfect for these two men.
6 - When the Cat's Away - Andre, Jude - This was a great second chance romance. I love the way these two really reconnect but they have to figure things out so they can move forward. This was a really sweet new beginning.
7 - Barking Up the Right Tree - Jett, Korbin - This story is really a great rom-com where a relationship gets started only to find out there is an unexpected connections. Of course the reader sees how things are going so it just adds to the fun.

Fun in Every Story

The narration was a hit or a miss for me. It wasn’t terrible but it was hard to figure out who was who sometimes. The stories were so sweet though.

Low angst sweetness

Positives: These books were very sweet. I liked the low angst, no drama stories.
Negatives: performance—the voices were overly exaggerated in order to make them distinguishable. Unfortunately the end result was painful to listen to.
“Y’all” was used to refer to a singular individual. This was particularly irritating because any southerner knows that “y’all” means “you all” and refers to more than one person. It really took a lot to keep listening between the voices and the improper use of southern dialect. But the sweetness of the stories kept me hanging on.
