Nate Temple must die.

Mordred - the bastard son of King Arthur - has returned, and he will stop at nothing to utterly destroy everything his father ever created, burning the Arthurian legend from the history books for good.

He’s already defeated Nate Temple once, corrupting the fabled Knights of the Round Table into darker, nigh-invincible, merciless killing machines: Knightmares.

And once Camelot is nothing more than a pile of fiery rubble, Mordred plans to conquer St. Louis, after slaughtering Nate and everyone he’s ever cared about, of course.

But a vengeful god is also hunting Nate and starts attacking his friends to draw him out. When one of Nate’s best friends is gravely wounded, Nate is forced to make an impossible choice - save his city from Mordred or save his friend from a blood-crazed god.

Both foes carry enough daddy issues to grant a first-year psychologist a second-year retirement. But Nate’s not that stable, either, and if he can’t get a grip on his own demons, his victory might very well be worse than anything either of his enemies ever could have imagined.

The only option left is to shatter all the rules, opening himself up to deadly powers better left untouched and forgotten, and even that is a fool’s gambit, a whisper of a hope.

Then again, if we don’t have hope, we’ve already lost. So, it’s time for Nate Temple to roll the dice. Because, in this game, even hope can die...

If you like Jim Butcher, Sarah J. Maas, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene, you won't be able to stop listening to this highly addictive Nate Temple series.

As all of the nate temple books, this being no exception, there is a ton of action and humor and odd twists to the storyline. overall I have nothing to complain about and am eager for the next one. That being said, I know shayne is an indie author and can understand the decisions he makes, I just cant help thinking how much more thos series could be if he wasn't writing three others at the same time, it is truly impressive that he continues to churn out quality material for all of his series and keeps a release schedule that would have Stephan king having a double take...

Shayne keeps cranking them out

I enjoyed seeing how Nate wasn’t top of the food chain. And got his butt handed to him more than once. And in the end came back with his A game.

Best one yet

I already love the series anyways, but I have truly not been disappointed. I feel like every book turns out to be my new favorite. Which is good and bad. They are sure jealous of each other and will one day come back to haunt me about which one was the absolute best. As always immediately after reading it, I would have to say this one of course. Let’s see how the next one fares...

Oh my god, this was so good

This book was not just a splash into the action pool, but a chunky dunk of fast paced story that breaks the mold for urban fantasy. This, like all Templeverse books, is hilarious and over the top shock factor. I would suggest reading this apart from others because the laughs and sobs will wake the neighbors. Enjoy the book, but if this is the first one you come across in the series STOP and start with obsidian son. Also you can get the first few books for 1 credit and the next few that way aswell. This author is a silver tongue (templeverse pun intended) wizard of the highest caliber and you will be crying for more.

Action, chuckles, and awesome awkward characters!!

If you're looking for a fast paced story with a crazy crew look no further! Nate's story flows from book to book and I'd recommend reading/listening from the beginning. He's a lovable, often times selfish, badass wizard who is trying to do the right thing but with his own flare for mischief thrown in. Enjoy the ride!

Absolutely love this series!
