Ret McCoy was always the new kid, but after three years in the small town of Riverton, he thinks his family may have finally settled. Later, an outsider buys the house. When people start to disappear, Ret is determined to solve the mystery before it swallows the entire town. His obsession with the Crooked House and its strange new owner threatens to put him and his friends in danger more terrifying than anything they could have imagined.

Great read!

This book proves that Mr. McKay is well on his way to becoming a number one writer.

The story took me back to a time I really miss, and he does a fantastic job of painting the picture. The paranormal element was the icing on the cake, making it difficult to find a stopping point! (I spent a lot of time sitting in driveway!)

I highly recommend recommend this book to any King or Koontz fan!

McKay hit this one out of the park! absolutely amazing thriller! the characters were explained in those details that paint a perfect picture of who they were. I read a bunch of Goosebumps as a kid and this was 10x better than anyone I read. I finished it in 3 short days. the description and ambiance of every scene was tremendous. I knew there would be some twist and turns, but nothing I could have imagined happened. Bravo!

Great audio I was happy that the same person read this as the other book the kids in this story find a pool that leads to another world in the basement of the crooked house demons are escaping into our world taking over recently deceased people it’s a race to close up this entrance and save the town ret leads his group of friends to save them and boy does he awesome story

Great book. The narration was fantastic, he gave each character their own voice and was great at conveying emotions.

Very well done. A very unique story. I would not mind more stories continuing the adventure.
