Nicely done

Stacy Reid’s writing stands out. Even in a 2-hour novella I found myself drawn in and caring about the characters right from the beginning. Perfect pace, characters negotiate the obstacles well, and a satisfying & unrushed ending. The only negative was the narrator’s portrayal of the hero’s voice. It was kind of a gurgle & decidedly unsexy. Luckily Ms Reid’s writing was good enough to distract me.

Was an interesting idea

You already know she is sight impaired, but she is still the boldest debutante ever. I’ve read a lot of these and she knows an awful lot for an innocent.
The narrator made him sound like he had a cold. Something about her accent or pronunciation is a little off too, but I can’t quite say what it is. Too many words ending in a vowel sound when the word ends in a consonant? Maybe.
It’s a short story, so I endured it.

Lovely novella

It is lovely listening to someone who conveys the emotions the characters feel. Also enjoyed the overall story.

Love runs deep

I loved this story of a heroine who thought she didn’t deserve love due to her blindness. To have hero who was so upstanding that he reaches for the inner beauty and love. The unwavering connection and drive to show his love makes you root for them. The narrator kept me engaged. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves second chances and Stacy Reid’s books. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Couldn’t finish

I am very particular about audiobooks. The overall sound quality and characters voices can physically repel me, (causing headaches, nausea, and my ears to feel like everything is too loud) so please keep that in mind. I did listen to the preview and thought it would be okay but I just couldn’t listen to it. The story and/or the performance is very stilted and the male characters voice is annoying, almost repellent.
