The vampires have been vanquished! Harry Keogh and the armies of the dead have destroyed the evil that once plagued the world. Nathan and Nestor, secret twin sons of the Necroscope and a proud gypsy woman, were children when their father, his humanity poisoned by his fearsome struggles, sacrificed himself to save mankind.

Yet there are vampires still, vampires crueler and stranger than any the Necroscope had faced.

When these new, merciless killers swoop out of the sky, Nathan and Nestor are men - but they have few of Harry Keogh's miraculous powers.

Torn from each other by battle, the sons of the Necroscope journey across the vampire world, exploring its mysteries, each seeking the powerful, terrible vampires, his missing brother...and the woman they both love!

The balance of humanity and ‘Wamphyri’ in dueling brothers within the world beyond the gate is a vile (complimentary) expansion of Necroscope (this installment takes things in quite a different direction after some closure in Deadspawn). Blood Brothers takes some time to get going with a bit of history but once it gets to present day it gets much better and the horror tinged fantasy adventure elements work well with bloody battles and sexual energy. Usually over explanation can kill a horror element but this evolves well and Lumley continues on for another dozen Necroscope books so some world building can be forgiven. I’m looking forward to the rest of the Bloodwars Trilogy with the next two installments. The narration here is a bit softer than I’d prefer before the epic Joshua Saxon takes over (but same narrator as the last two books so at least there’s some consistency). Best not to jump onto Necroscope here but to start at the beginning.

starting this series late 80's or early 90's back in the Navy. I now have all 7 books. can't wait to finish it. this book is awesome. I highly recommend the Necroscoe series. definitely "r" rated.

I've been waiting for audiobooks of the Vampire World trilogy. Lumley's rich and vibrant prose is a joy to read and pure poetry to listen to. The performer wasn't the best in my opinion, but serviceable, and the material makes up for it. Please, make and release the next two!

Been waiting for this!
