Disaffected

By: disaffected
  • Summary

  • Four years ago, I woke from a spell that I had been under since childhood. After decades of torment, I recognized my mother for what she truly was: a personality-disordered abuser. She wasn't the victim she had always claimed to be. Then I saw the same behavior and abuse tactics being adopted and applauded by the social justice left.

Freaky Friday isn't just for Fridays anymore, it's an everyday treat. As the based kids say, America keeps getting more fake and gay. We've already got AI girlfriends, and this week we're going to learn about AI racists.

New federal Title IX rules say boys are girls and boys don't get legal rights anymore. Law enforcement and legal scholars who should know better are speaking the un-Constitutional non-crime called "hate speech" into existence.

Gavin Newsom's making Handmaids Tale-style soft-core politi-porn ads, and the federal government is suing companies for refusing to hire black criminals.

It's April 27, 2024, and this is the show where we talk about politics and culture through a psychological lens. I'm Joshua Slocum. Join me tonight for the race to retardation on Disaffected.

  • The Triumph of Titania: Ep. 168. April 20, 2024
    Apr 23 2024

Things we would have called fiction yesterday are fact today. As most of the West thinks better of mutilating children, the US forges ahead stealing kids from loving fathers and giving them to Gorgon mothers with scalpels for fingernails.

A living AI chatbot called Katherine Maher just took over National Public Radio, and she's literally indistinguishable from a pop culture parody character. Barking mad American black women in Congress are calling for black people to be excused from taxes on accounta what whitey done.

And we're all supposed to pretend this is sane or normal. It's not. Today is April 20, 2024, and I'm Joshua Slocum. We're going to discuss all of this and more tonight on Disaffected.

"The Personal is Political": Very, very political.

What do you do when the entire world's politics start to repeat the dynamics that created your nightmarish childhood?

What do you do when a new crop of "influencers" -- political, social, aesthetic -- seem to share pathological traits enabled by social media structures and strictures?

If you're like a lot of people, you retreat. You try to keep your own house, your own family, outside the madness. Or perhaps you believe it is you who are going mad.

And then there's Josh. After growing up in a house where Cluster B reigned supreme, he's got something to say, and he doesn't care if you think he has "issues." Like many Americans, I'm tired of pretending that our broken family dynamics aren't impacting our broader social and political dynamics, and Josh gives that frustration a voice and a compelling cri de coeur.

If you're made easily uncomfortable, or if you watch out for a lot of sacred cows and need your podcasts to repeat your preferred shibboleths -- left or right -- don't bother tuning in. This isn't for you. But if you've started to feel like you're howling in the wilderness about the ways influence is manufactured and peddled in our world today, you're the right kind of person to get a lot out of Disaffected.
