  • Episode 157: Charles Kim, Sr. Interviews Charles Kim, Jr. Augustine Way of Humility (Catholic University of America Press)
    Apr 15 2024

For a fun twist, my dad asked if he could interview me about my new book The Way of Humility, St. Augustine's Theology of Preaching (Catholic University of America Press, 2023). I had a very good time and appreciate all the time he took to read it. He has read plenty of my bad high school papers, but this one took a lot more time. I am blessed that both of my parents have beens so supportive in my academic and spiritual journey. Thank you to all parents who support their kids! You do tremendous and live changing work.

  • Episode 156: Glen L Thompson on The Jingjiao and the Earliest Christianity in China
    Apr 3 2024

Glen L Thompson's The Jingjiao: the Earliest Christian Church in China (Eerdmans Press, 2024) provides a thorough introduction to a very little known history of the centuries old story of Christians in China. Dr. Thompson comes on the podcast to provide some background on the book and some really fascinating stories, including how a Chinese Christian was once the head of the Syriac Church! As a historian of early Christianity, this is a history I knew nothing about and I am sure listeners will learn a lot from this great book.

Excellent Introduction and Review of Historical Theology

Many Christians go to Church services but complain that the sermons - more like sermonettes they are so short - are too boring! That’s because most services and associated sermonettes are focused on unbelievers and new Christians. They don’t contain any solid meat for practicing Christians who are “walking out their salvation with fear and trembling!” That’s why I hope they can use Audible to listen to Chad Kim’s excellent presentation : Review: A History of Christian Theology.

Since I have a master’s degree in Theology, I know where the real MEAT of Christianity is. It’s located in Christian Theology. Ironically, even most theology students don’t understand the historical precedents, events, and people that inspired the Christian Theology that is considered Orthodox and practiced today. Kim’s presentation is a solid
presentation is a solid review of these the history behind the Orthodox Christian Theology practiced today! You’ll be amazed!
