    (edited) Lanai has been working seemingly non-stop since he landed in Hawaii radio in the 1980's. To some he's Lanai Boy (I-94) and others it's Lanai Tabura - along with his brother Chef Adam Tabura and friend stand-up comedian Shawn Felipe - who won Season Four of Food Network's "The Great Food Truck Race" (2013). He's had success as a stand-up, done acting, emceeing, hosting and all the while, Lanai has been a lynch-pin in a greater many charitable causes...which we'll chat up about!     Melon James is an artist currently based in Honolulu, Hawaii. You can see some of his works in Kaka'ako, part of Pow! Wow! Hawaii 2020. I'll include a quick video below so you can see other murals from earlier this year in the Honolulu neighborhood. Nicky - as I was introduced to him - started out fine tuning his tag (font style and name/words) and later pieces (larger and more stylized works) as a teenager in Chicago, Illinois. Joining the military brought him to our Hawaiian Islands where he soon developed life-long friendships throughout the street art community.
