    On this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast I'm sharing 8 Sales Tips in 8 Minutes which was the title of my keynote at a recent business breakfast which has an expert@eight slot with 8 minutes to share your expertise followed by Q&A before the breakfast

    Here are those 8 sales tips:

    1. Speak to current customers – not when they call you but you call them
    2. Respond quickly – evidence suggests the first people to respond got a big chance of winning the business
    3. Ask and listen - don’t think sales is about talking it isn’t!
    4. Be the authority in your sector
    5. Make it easy for potential and existing customers to buy
    6. Surprise and delight those who do buy from you
    7. Remind everyone in your organisation that they are all in sales in some capacity if they have customer interaction
    8. Be proactive – make things happen

  • LinkedIn Video as a Sales Tool with Donald Kelly

    On this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast I’m talking LinkedIn video as a sales tool with founder of The Sales Evangelist and host of the The Sales Evangelist Podcast Donald C Kelly

    So are you one of the many people on LinkedIn who are either inactive or have a profile that is out of date or simply aren’t using the platform to grow your business and boost your sales

    Donald shares some great tips and ideas particularly around the use of video on LinkedIn

    Included within that is news that LinkedIn is adding a new button to phone at just to enable users to more easily create video content

    So how can you create video content and what should you use it for?

    Donald suggests videos should be around 20 seconds and the video is a great way of communicating with people on LinkedIn simply because it enables them to get much more of a feel for you as a person and it will help you stand out from everyone else who is still currently using typed messaging

    And when you think about how so many people are still sending emails speculatively that don’t go anywhere so what a difference could happen if you swap sending those emails to send in LinkedIn video messages

    We also briefly talk about sales training and how online, on demand training materials are becoming much more a key part of the training/learning process, particularly for sales teams

    Donald's two tips for listeners to put into action straightaway are:

    Go and update your LinkedIn banner – using Canva if necessary

    And secondly start sharing content, either content you have created yourself or indeed that someone else has already created

  • Emotional Connections with your Audience with Chantal Cornelius

    On this episode of the Better Presentations More Sales podcast I’m talking public speaking and in particular emotional connections with your audience with the founder of Appletree Marketing and the current President of the UK based Professional Speaking Association - Chantal Cornelius

    Chantal provides some great insights into how she got into public speaking and how the PSA works and why listeners should consider joining the PSA or its American equivalent the National Speakers Association (NSA) or indeed any of the spacing associations based across the globe.

    The PSA is all about helping people like you Speak More and Speak Better

    How to make emotional connections with your audience is a specialist area for Chantal who explains that your audience want to feel something from your speaking or presentation or workshop as well as learn something.

    But to help ensure you make the right emotional connections you need to understand your audience and what they have been promised by the organiser in terms of what you are going to share with them.

    Making an emotional connection with your audience involves reading them and making sure you’ve got good eye contact with them.

    We also talk about how you can make that connection when you are delivering something online.
