Honest, Incredible Tale

As a child in 1980's America, we were taught that Russians and the KGB were "bad guys". This story gives a completely different, humanized perspective. Jack Barsky tells his truth and it is an incredible story. One does not typically equate emotion with KGB agents, but Mr. Barsky's story is filled with it. Love, guilt, regret. Truly a remarkable tale and worth the listen.

Fabulous!

Absolutely Fabulous! This was an amazing biography of a Russian spy during the Cold War. The complexity of Jack's humanity is a study in the psychological variations of which a human being is capable.

Fascinating and captivating story

This is a truly fascinating and captivating story, especially if you're interested in history, politics. the former USSR or spy stories - though this is more abuut the human being that is Jack Barsky than the spy job. I would maybe recommend the book, though I have yet to listen to it, for more details about missions and stuff.
This is not a hollywood mpvie, it is a very human story about growing up with one ideology and shifting your allegiances through your experiences, connections and way of life in various foreign countries.
The only less- enjoyable thingsabout this are all of the ads that make up almost half of every episoe.

Fascinating true story

This is a really interesting podcast. I can’t imagine being able to compartmentalize my life like Jack had to do to maintain his cover. Very interesting.
