Hello and welcome to episode 110 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! Today, we're going to discuss if leakers will ruin the reveal for Switch 2, what Nintendo is doing right now to try to stop this and most importantly if we even care. Do we just want to know so badly what this next system is going to be that we'll take the information any way we can get it? Also in this episode, we got a chance to chat with Tomm Hulett from Wayforward to talk about developing Contra Operation Galuga. In games we're playing, we share our spoiler-free thoughts about Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth but get ready for our full spoilercast on the game dropping at the end of the month. We discuss the rumored PS5 Pro in our news section and wrap it all up with questions from our wonderful Patreon community.

Hi and welcome to episode 109 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! This week we're joined by our good friend Stephen Totilo - games journalist extraordinaire! Stephen has been covering video games and Nintendo for decades and has so many insider stories. When we were at Nintendo, there were so many people on our team who were scared at the prospect of talking to Stephen and we never understood why! We dig into all of that with him today. Also in this episode, we recap all the news that came out during Mario Day and reflect on the tragic passing of the legendary Akira Toriyama. We've also been playing some other games other than Final Fantasy VII Rebirth so we tell you what we think of those. We wrap it all up with questions from our wonderful Patreon subscribers.

Hi, we're celebrating the 7th anniversary of Nintendo Switch an incredible story about playing Switch before it launched with the one and only John Cena and before you even think it, yes, we COULD see him. You never know working with celebrities but John Cena turned out to be the nicest guy and a true Nintendo fan. Now we have such a great memory of launching this iconic video game system and playing with the one and only John Cena! Also in this episode, we talk about the recent Nintendo lawsuit against game emulator Yuzu. We also had a big week digging into Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and tell you what we think of it so far. We were also lucky to go to Capcom a few weeks ago to play even more of Dragon's Dogma II early. In our never a minute segment today, we're doing something really fun which is opening packs of Pokemon Cards! Should we get into Pokemon TCG? We wrap it all up with questions from our wonderful Patreon subscribers.

Running out of material

I was a huge fan of Kit & Krysta in Nintendo Minute and was really excited when I heard they were starting their own podcast! Sadly, the show just doesn't seem to have staying power.

The first month or so was great, with them sharing a lot of interesting, behind the scenes info about working at Nintendo, but after that initial release, the show quickly went downhill. Most episodes now are extremely generic, focusing mainly on random lists/activities that are a dime a dozen from amateur content creators on YouTube.

Worst of all now though, is lately the show is full of non-stop plugging! Every episode starts with them asking for more Patreon subscribers, to the point they're now begging people to pay for them to take a vacation in Japan. Reminders about Patreon occur multiple times per episode and it's horror really uncomfortable. On top of this, they now also have sponsored ads that very abruptly start playing out of nowhere, sometimes in the middle of a sentence!

I don't want to sound mean, because I used to be huge fans of theirs. But after almost a year of listening, the show is very disappointing and kind of awkward to listen to.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
