  • Being a Leader of Leaders with Chris Sherwood, CEO of the RSPCA
    Nov 19 2021

Episode 7 and the final show in our first season of The Charity Leaders Podcasts, we were delighted to welcome the leader of the largest charity so far, Chris Sherwood, CEO of the RSPCA. The RSPCA does not need any introduction but maybe some people are not aware of how historical significant it is.

Chris has been in the charity sector for his whole career and knew from an early age this was the route for him - maybe that’s why he became a CEO aged 34 and at just 37 was put in charge of the oldest animal charity in the world.

Chris is an incredibly humble man, he has achieved amazing success at such a young age but is so focused on the next leaders in both his own charity but in the sector as a while, it is truly inspiring to talk to him and I’m confident everyone will take a lot from our chat with him.

Thanks so much to everyone that has helped make this podcast an absolute joy to produce.

  • Making Yourself Redundant with Mike Ward, CEO of KM Charity Team
    Nov 12 2021

Episode 6 of the Charity Leaders Podcast finds us talking to actor turned charity leader, Mike Ward. His passion has always been about helping young people, so the move into charity and not-for-profit work was an obvious one.

Mike is the CEO of KM Charity Team, which delivers literacy, road safety and walk to school initiatives to support schools, families and children. Over 17,000 children have benefited from the road safety initiatives and more than 30 million minutes of reading have been recorded with their literacy efforts.

Mike talks about how lockdown forced them to reflect and put in place a strategy for the future and convert the charity to be digital-first - he also claims it is his mission in life to make himself redundant!

    Nov 7 2021

In episode 5 of our podcast series talking to inspiring charity leaders, we were lucky enough to chat to Anthony Impey MBE, a man that might have started in the commercial world, but has a passion for helping people and created his own social enterprise when he saw action was needed.

He is now the CEO of Be The Business, where they help SMEs drive change and grow. He talks about the importance of marketing to generate interest and how as a leader you should always be looking at yourself to see how you can improve first. It is this sort of dedication to improve and help others that had him awarded an MBE for services to apprentices!
