  • Max Morton: Having a Musician’s Mindset as a Producer
    May 8 2024

Max "Morton" Pasichnyk, the esteemed Ukrainian producer, stands as the creative force behind the heavy/power metal studio project Morton. His vision for the project initially blended classic heavy metal with modern power-metal influences, culminating in a unique sonic identity. Despite evolving stylistically over time, traces of heavy-metal roots remain evident in every composition.

Grimoire marked Morton's debut release, a five-track endeavor entirely composed, performed, recorded, and produced by Max himself, disseminated freely across the internet. As Max assembled a live lineup while recording, Morton transitioned from a studio project to a full-fledged band, characterized by rigorous rehearsals and relentless dedication to crafting new material.

In November 2010, Morton unveiled their inaugural music video, "Sleeping King," earning acclaim from listeners and peers worldwide. This success spurred the band's focus on crafting their debut full-length album, which materialized as Come Read The Words Forbidden, released in Ukraine and Japan in the summer of 2011, accompanied by an official live video for "Brotherhood Of Light."

Come Read The Words Forbidden's global release by AFM Records in October 2011, followed by its distribution in Russia, solidified Morton's presence across the globe. The subsequent year saw Morton sharing stages with renowned acts like U.D.O., Mike Terrana, Within Temptation, Coroner, Oomph, and My Favorite Scar, signaling a new chapter in the band's live performance repertoire.

In September 2012, Morton released their third music video, further expanding their reach across various digital platforms and musical TV channels. Looking ahead, the band anticipates the release of their second full-length album in 2015, poised to continue their musical journey under Max Morton's visionary leadership.
