Asatru Academics

By: Asatru Academics
  • Summary

  • Ásatrú is the belief in the Norse gods. It is an indigenous, European religion. Think Vikings, Thor, Odin, etc. The etc. is what I talk about. There's a ton of irresponsible bozos spitting out their opinions as facts online about the people, practices, beliefs, and history just for virtual likes and subscribers. I'm here to help you learn the ugly, the bloody, the funny, the whole truth... so help me gods. Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/asatruacademics/support

  • Yuletide
    Dec 29 2022

What does a toxic decoration, horse stew, drunken promises, and mermaid goats have to do with each other? This highly caffeinated episode talks about some misconceptions surrounding about what is and isn’t pagan in our modern Yuletide celebrations.

Are drink minimums a good idea? Is Santa Odin? Are the Winter Nights the 12 days of Yule? Should you put mistletoe in your punch? Spoiler: No.

  • Hardships Aren't Abnormal
    Nov 24 2022

I talk about why I’ve been AWOL for the past year, how hardships are normal, and how they aren't to be feared. I give you some examples of hardships caused by life and by other garbage human beings that the ancient Norse people overcame. Why? They overcame terrible challenges, and you can too. You have and you can--repeatedly. They were people and you are people too! Yay for the fact everyone goes through horrible times in their lives?

down to earth

I love the fact that the narrator reminds you to step back and to consider what you see. read, or heard is BS or potentiality true using inductive reasoning. including her own statements.

Informative and Funny!

I have been thoroughly enjoying listening to this Podcast right on the heels of completing both Eddas and listening to Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology. It brings together thoughts and questions that I may have missed or asked during my read-through, and performed in such an entertaining way by the hostess! I definitely recommend for anyone with even a passing interest in Asatru, or for anyone looking for a new perspective on life through the lens of Asatru practice.
