This story is good enough without the extra dialogue
Fun to hear this deep dive into such an odd person. However, I didn’t appreciate Gareth’s constant exclamations of “oh my God” and “Jesus Christ” as a show of indignation for Steven’s actions. I think there are better ways to signal your virtue than by taking the Lord’s name in vain.

Easily my favorite podcast.
History can be dark, depressing and hard to get through. Dave Anthony reads a story from history to comedian Gareth Reynolds who has no idea what the topic will be about. They are both hilarious and it makes learning about atrocities bearable. Not all stories are about atrocities though, they have some incredible stores about certain inventions, people, places, things, events, companies and more.. Because both you and Gareth have never heard the story there is delight in having someone there to respond and ask the same questions I have when first hearing these stories. I cannot recommend it enough.
if its your first listen I recommend the episodes action park or the ghost one, i think its within the first 100 episodes

Listened to all over the years
Listened for a couple of years now and for the most part I have always enjoyed the stories, though lately there seems to be a more political focus rather than strange, unusual, and fun stories. When asked for a new podcast to listen to this is always my go to recommendation!

Amazing
Probably the best "fun" history podcast there is out there. Host are hilarious and quick witted while not taking themselves or any topic too seriously
