  • Give Your Best to Your Best
    Mar 20 2024

In order to raise up leaders, you have to give the best of yourself to your best people! This week, John Maxwell teaches about how to raise up good leaders by giving your best to the people you lead. After John’s lesson, Mark Cole and Chris Goede discuss the lesson and give you practical ways to apply it to your life and leadership.

    Key Takeaways:

    - Good people are hard to find; they are harder to keep.

    - When leaders fail to appreciate the difference between mediocre and excellence, performance decreases.

    - The top 20% of your people account for 80% of the production

Our BONUS resource for this episode is the “Give Your Best to Your Best Worksheet”, which includes fill-in-the-blank notes from John’s teaching. You can download the worksheet by visiting MaxwellPodcast.com/GiveYourBest and clicking “Download the Bonus Resource.”

  • Making Great Decisions (Part 2)
    Mar 13 2024

Leadership hinges on the quality of decisions we make, and in today's discussion, John Maxwell brings to light the traps that threaten our decision-making processes, such as procrastination and a tendency to say yes to every demand. It's crucial to recognize that options exist in every scenario, and by maintaining this awareness, leaders can navigate choices with greater confidence and clarity.

Mark Cole and Traci Morrow underline the importance of seeking feedback, breaking down overwhelming decisions into manageable parts, and the necessity of staying focused on the ultimate goal to avert common pitfalls. In this episode, listeners will also learn strategies for managing the information overload and the requisite need for setting clear personal boundaries to guide their 'yes' and 'no' responses.

By engaging with these insights, you'll be equipped not only to refine your decision-making skills but also to understand the relevance of tracking results and defining issues precisely.

Our BONUS resource for this series is the Making Great Decisions Worksheet, which includes fill-in-the-blank notes from John’s teaching. You can download the worksheet by visiting MaxwellPodcast.com/Decisions and clicking “Download the Bonus Resource.”

Great Information!

Wow! This is great information that all leaders should be required to study! Having experienced both sides, as I'm sure most of you have, of following and leading...I've learned mostly from experiencing bad leadership/management. I hope to never lose trust from my team, and to not only retain the best of the best, but that the environment draws the best of the best. Servant leadership is key!

Well done!!

Flying back home from Pittsbugh today I listened to this podcast. Can't tell you how many notes I took but it truly fired me up! one of the key takeaways for me was what Mark said about the fulfillment from teaching others and watching the lights go on! For some reason I could never put my finger on why I truly enjoyed leading. That was it for me!! Could tell that Mark was really expressing his true self here. The other piece was we become fully alive when we know what you were created to be. Great stuff!! Man, this podcast was outstanding and thank you for all your hard work to make these episodes happen. I am a life long learner!!!
