  • Margaret Cho’s Memoir I’m The One That I Want (with Joy Osmanski)
    Apr 26 2024
Join Chelsea and guest Joy Osmanski as they dive into the poignant and candid memoir of comedy icon Margaret Cho. Learn how Margaret uses comedy to survive her childhood, and later Hollywood, when she becomes the first Korean-American to be the lead of a 1994 sitcom that was based on her own life. (Hollywood quickly ruined that of course.) Margaret discusses everything from dating Quentin Tarantino to internalized sexism and racism to the good Karen in her life, and “Fat as a feminist issue.” If you or anyone you know is struggling, there's help available at Crisis Text Line by texting the word HOME to 741-741, or the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. The Best

I truly never thought I’d ever have a parasocial relationship. Then I was introduced to Chelsea Devantez, and now we’re best friends!

I had never read a memoir before listening to this show, and I’m not a celebrity-head at all. But what a good time, and what moving stuff. Thanks for putting in the work for us, Chelsea. It’s a joy.
