Mat Auryn is BACK! And we have great news. Mat has a new book coming out in the fall of 2024! This one is all about becoming the best psychic tarot reader you can be! The book is The Psychic Art of Tarot: Opening Your Inner Eye for More Insightful Readings (Mat Auryn's Psychic Witch, 3).

This whole conversation was a lot of fun. Two experienced tarot pros sharing what we love, what we do, and why we do it! Mat shares why it was time for this book, why he wrote it the way he did, and keeps revealing more of his own secret methods. Then we respectfully disagree on what counts as mediumship. Good times with a great friend!

Welcome to Weird Web Radio!

This episode features Diana Helmuth! Diana spent a year exploring Witchcraft and documented her journey for all of us to enjoy! This is exactly the kind of book I wish we had more of in Paganism and the Occult. Her story telling skills are excellent. I hope you enjoy the honesty she exhibits all along the way. The good, the bad, and the Hawk she wasn't sure about. Diana's relative newness to all of this allowed some exploration of doubt and skepticism too.

DIANA'S BIO:

Diana Helmuth writes about our desires to be transported, our urge to reconnect with nature, and how to keep going when you feel like a fool. Her first book, How to Suffer Outside, won the National Outdoor Book Award for best instructional. Her second book, The Witching Year: A Memoir of Earnest Fumbling Through Modern Witchcraft was featured on NPR, reviewed in the New York Times and nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award for Best Memoir. Her freelance work can be found in various anthologies, travel guides, and humor magazines. She studied anthropology and Arabic at UC Berkeley, and can often be caught moonlighting in Silicon Valley’s start-up land, or producing the occasional podcast. She was born and raised in Northern California.

It's the long overdue return of Laura Tempest Zakroff!

Tempest is always fun to talk to about all things. We covered everything from Sigils to Modern Traditional Witchcraft. We got into folklore, stories, art, and all the ways these things intersect with our magical lives. 

Laura's BIO:

Laura Tempest Zakroff (she/they) is a professional artist, author, performer, and Modern Traditional Witch based in New England. She holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and her artwork has received awards and honors worldwide. Her work embodies myth and the esoteric through her drawings and paintings, jewelry, talismans, and other designs. Laura is the author of several bestselling Llewellyn books including Weave the Liminal, Sigil Witchery, Visual Alchemy, and Anatomy of a Witch, as well as the artist and author of the Anatomy of a Witch Oracle and The Liminal Spirits Oracle. Laura edited The New Aradia: A Witch’s Handbook to Magical Resistance and the Gorgon's Guide to Magical Resistance from Revelore Press. Laura is the creative force behind several community events and teaches workshops online and worldwide.
