  • Navigating sexuality & queerness as an international student in the UK

    It's episode 14 which means that this season is almost over! This week, DC collective member Gayathiri Kamalakanathan (they/she) took over as host and spoke with Bava Dharani (she/her) about the challenges international students face when navigating sexuality and queerness in the UK.Bava is a research intern at the Stockholm Environment Institute Asia in Bangkok, Thailand. She uses an interdisciplinary approach to understand the intricacies involved in the decisions people make to migrate, settle and form lives in new places, including what it means to live as a queer, gender-nonconforming racialised person in different parts of the world. We also give a round-up of the latest sexual health and social justice issues including the 'virginity testing' ban, Manchester Pride funding cuts and vaginismus.Links to what we discuss can be found via the full references on our website.What do you think of the podcast?
