Walking away from religion isn’t unusual. It’s also not unreasonable. A lot of so-called Christians have hurt a lot of people and done a lot of damage in the name of Christ. Ever found yourself thinking: We’d all be better off without religion? Here’s the crazy part: Jesus agrees with you. What God’s always wanted is meaningful connections with His Creation. But most of us experience religion as rigid, rule-following devoid of relationship. Jesus’ aim was to help humanity unlearn what they thought they knew and embrace lives fueled by transformational love. Jesus firmly believed abandoning certain religious traditions would free us to live the full lives we’re made for.
