The SSPod Spotlights the Suffragettes who have paved the way and the parallel century of women from the Miss America Organization who have made it their mission to be empowered, educated, and civically engaged as well.Tally is the founder of Vote With a Vision in TN and provides civic literacy education for school children across the state while registering high school seniors to vote as we come upon a pivotal midterm election year in a state known for its low voter turnout and disenfranchisement of young voters.   • Mallory Hagan is Making a Splash: A Shift in MAO & A Leap Onto The Ballot

    Welcome back to the Suffragette Series Podcast! 

    A southern woman with New York grit, Mallory Hagan is a native of Opelika, Alabama. After moving to New York City at 19, Mallory worked in the service industry and began competing in the Miss America Organization as a means to earn scholarship assistance. In 2013, Mallory became the first Miss New York to win Miss America since Vanessa Williams. As Miss America, Mallory traveled the country advocating for Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and she was the National Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. (CMNH). After Miss America, Mallory earned a degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology in Advertising Marketing and Communications. She went on to work as a local news anchor for an NBC affiliate in Georgia. In 2018, Mallory was the Democratic nominee for Alabama’s 3rd Congressional District and she increased voter turnout and boosted faith in Alabama politics. Following her campaign, she became the Alabama Communications Manager for Mike Bloomberg for President. Now, Mallory is the Communications Manager for Business Outreach Center Network. Mallory has recently launched a campaign and is running for Alabama District 25 House of Representatives Seat in this Midterm Election cycle! This episode was recorded prior to the announcement of her campaign!
