A Band Called Punchline

By: Punchline
  • Summary

  • Since 1997, Punchline set out to write meaningful, heartfelt songs and share them with the world. At the same time, they were also unknowingly writing one of the strangest band stories imaginable. This podcast serves to tell that story, straight from the mouths of the people who lived it, and in a more honest manner than ever before.

  • Ep. 6: Just Say Yes
    Oct 19 2023
With the departure of guitarist Greg Wood in late 2006, Punchline welcomed their talented hometown friend Jon Belan into the band, setting the stage for an era of change and artistic exploration. From the exciting tours that took them all the way to the UK to the unforgettable recording sessions of the Just Say Yes album, the band vividly relives these sometimes tumultuous but always creative times. This episode explores the band’s newfound confidence in self-releasing their music after being on a label for previous albums, which marked a defining crossroads in their journey into a DIY music landscape. While some members embraced this challenge, others gracefully stepped away. THIS is the story of Punchline from late 2006 until early 2009, also known as the Just Say Yes era.
