  • Summary

  • The Troubles were a period of time in Northern Ireland which many people today do not know a lot about. In this podcast we will delve into each individual bombing and attack that happened during the 30-year period. This is a non-partisan podcast that focuses solely on the facts and the accounts of the individuals involved.Cover art by Chris O'Brien New Episodes every Tuesday starting March 24thI grew up in the Republic of Ireland and found that most people of my generation had no idea about the Troubles and what happened during that period. This podcast will break down many of the attacks, bombings and shootings that occurred and devote a full episode to each incident. It is important to remember that these episodes are written by me and I've made every effort to write as clearly as possible and without bias. That being said, this is fairy dense subject matter and there will be errors and differences of opinions. I'm happy to discuss these in a constructive manner. This podcast is the perfect starting point for those interested in learning about the Troubles. • BONUS: Full Interview with Richard Moore
    Jul 16 2021
As a mid-season bonus, I wanted to release this full interview with Richard Moore. The Richard Moore episode, called Children of the Troubles, received a lot of positive feedback and comments. But the full interview with Richard is a good bit longer than what made it into the episode. So here is the entire interview, virtually unedited. Thanks again and see you in season three.

  • Pat Finucane: A Murder With Collusion At Its Heart
    Jun 15 2021
Pat Finucane was a solicitor who defended a number of high-profile republican paramilitaries. It was for this reason he was targeted and killed by loyalist paramilitaries. I may have said it before about previous episodes, but this is up there as being one of the most complicated legal cases in British history. The basic argument is that the 4 main loyalists who killed him were all informants for various branches of intelligence services and that the intelligence services knew about the plots to kill Pat and did nothing. So the question is raised... Does that make them in a sense responsible? And were these tactics known at the highest level of the British Government? That's what will be unpacked in this episode.

Wonderfully well researched

It’s a great glimpse into the troubles and the events that took place during this time. My only complaint is that the sound is a little off and sometimes it’s very hard to hear the audio clips that are played. otherwise very riveting.
