Nice second chance story

A bit of a Beauty and Beast trope.
Captain "Fortunate" (now Major) doesn't feel too fortunate after being maimed in battle. However, after being reunited with a one-night stand, his physical scars become insignificant as she helps him heal his mental scars. I enjoyed it.

A lovely Holiday period romance

On a Midnight Clear is a lovely period romance for the holidays. The story, about a widow, her son, and a soldier, is heartwarming and sweet, with just a bit of heat. The narrator of the audio book does a great job bringing the story to life.
