The gruesome death of a girl, a protest of new development, and the systematic destruction of coral reefs on Grand Cayman all alert photojournalist Mike Scott that criminal elements are at work on the idyllic island.

When Mike’s buddy Kelly is kidnapped, it is a race against time for Mike to save his friend and bring down the greedy developer putting his own wealth before the beauty of the island and the welfare of the people.

A rare theme for a book serie, with much time spent under water.
Technical details clearly confirmes accuracy and knowledge about diving, befitted a man with a diving instructor rating and a clear love and dedication to the sea and the underwater world.

Highly recommended for divers and non-divers alike.

Action story about diving and divers.

Having read the kindle edition of Cayman Cowboys: Reefs Under Pressure, I was so pleased to be able to get a free audio review copy of the book. Being a scuba diver with a deep love of the marine environment, this story really resonated with me. The danger to the Cayman Island reefs by corrupt businessmen is a strong plot element that the author skillfully uses to build tension and drama for his characters and it really got me hooked. The characters are 3-D; real and believable. The main character, Mike Scott, a diver and photographer, is a likable protagonist. The action and the underwater scenes are clear and well written.
The audiobook, narrated by CJ Goodearl, is just under six hours. The pace is easy to follow but moves along well with the action of the book. Mr. Goodearl does a great job of giving the various characters the proper inflection so that there is no confusion as to who is speaking in the text.
All in all, a fun book to read as well as to listen to. In the middle of a pandemic spent indoors in the winter, listening to this book is like a virtual dive trip to the Cayman Islands. All I need now is a fruity rum drink and a sunlamp.
