Publisher's summary

Sherman Holmes has officially settled into his new city, and the World's Greatest Detective Agency has opened its doors. While his put-upon partner, Watson, would be happy to keep the jobs as simple as missing pets, when a worried worker with an outlandish tale of ghosts walks in, there's no stopping Sherman from taking the case.

Now, the new duo must investigate a local "haunted" tourist site where the scares are going off-script and otherworldly interference is suspected. With Sherman lost in the history of the mystery, Watson finds himself needing to adapt quickly to his new job's unique challenges.

Facing booby-trapped halls to navigate, pesky former coworkers popping in without warning, and growing attention from a local criminal element, even an operative of Watson's talents is going to need some help getting through this case alive.

Instead, he has Sherman Holmes.

About the Creator

Drew Hayes is an author from Texas who has written several books and found the gumption to publish a few (so far). He graduated from Texas Tech with a B.A. in English, because evidently he's not familiar with what the term “employable” means. You can read more of his growing work at his website, www.drewhayesnovels.com, send him mail and movie offers at Novelistdrew@gmail.com, or just follow his Twitter: @DrewHayesNovels. Hayes has been called one of the most profound, prolific, and talented authors of his generation, but a table full of drunks will say almost anything when offered a round of free shots. Hayes feels kind of like a D-bag writing about himself in the third person like this. He does appreciate that you're still reading, though. Hayes would like to sit down and have a beer with you. Or a cocktail. He's not here to judge your preferences. Hayes is terrible at being serious, and has no real idea what a snippet biography is meant to convey anyway. Hayes thinks you are awesome just the way you are. That part, he meant. Hayes is off to go high-five random people, because who doesn't love a good high-five? No one, that's who.

I just love Drew's writing.

This was another fun story to pass some time by one of my favorite authors. His plots are generally wrapped up in a timely manner with small tendrils leading to a broader issues and I've never seen him fail to tie off every single one. The title tells you all you need to know but keep in mind this series hasn't introduced any fantasy or supernatural elements.

Addictive!

I like almost every work by Drew Hayes, but this series really hits the spot. I hope there's going to be another book soon! Scott Aiello does an excellent job once again, his narration is perfect.

Great listen

I was so happy to see a second book with these characters! The story line was fun and funny, Scott Aiello did an amazing job narrating just like on the previous book. All of Drew Hayes’ books have been enjoyable and this is no exception. Seeing the friendship between Sherman and Watson grow was sweet as well. I hope more books are added to this series.

fast fun

This, the second book in this series is surprisingly stand alone. The first book gives you a little more background, it is absolutely not necessary to have read it first to enjoy this one. I have enjoyed them both thus far and I'm certainly looking forward to the next! Highly recommended.

If you like Sherlock Holmes and comedy

If you like Sherlock Holmes and comedy, then I highly recommend these books. They’re light, occasionally touching, and well written. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the first two, and I hope there’s more to come.
