As the moonshiners’ intentions for them and their dogs comes to light, Ben and the others realize they must devise a way to escape no matter the risk. The alternative is unthinkable.

But sometimes even the best laid plans fall apart in the heat of battle, as Ben and the others soon find out while fighting for their freedom and their lives.

Great, Except...

While I mostly enjoyed this story, I couldn't get over the fact that they shouldn't have gotten themselves into that situation in the first place. I found it hard to believe that, given his training and experience, Ben would have made the choices he did when presented with what was an obvious set up at the end of the last book.

Also, there were many moments that I felt like the author was adding words just to increase the word count in order to make the book long enough to be an actual book. There was a lot of unnecessary "fluff" in places.

Decent for a long drive listen

First few books (1-5) are pretty good. Books 7-8 are slow with action.

Can’t get enough

I have no choice but to listen often. Love the characters. Well with my time. I am so happy I found a very good large book collection

A Non-Stop Action Adventure after an EMP attack.

Check out the whole series! Buckle up fans of dystopian EMP future science fiction, you will not be disappointed by the runaway action adventure. If you’re not a fan of this genre, consider giving this book a chance. The story centers on connection, character and creativity, in a world where electricity and computers are not functioning. While there is some political proselytizing, this book is without the heavy handedness of peppers and focuses on the relationships that are the backbone of the group of people who survive. A really good story can be told in a way that makes it accessible to almost everyone. There is hope, even when the odds seem to be stacked against you. Great narration also make this a must-listen to selection. Highly recommended.

Non stop action!

I listened to all of the books in the series except the last which hasn’t come out yet. I LOVED them!
