Well...that escalated quickly!

I remember when this was about a 11 year old with a breathing problem...and just like with real life you look back and thing "Gods, I thought it was thought then!"

This book felt satisfying

For beginners, I really loved Dark & Day 4: The Impossible Quest, and while this book has magic elements like Harry potter and Lord of the rings, it adds a whole new refreshing twist on it.
I was really impressed by how well author's writing has progressed throughout the series. It is a stark difference even between the last two books.

The dialogue is engaging and the action scenes are well planned out and do not drag on. If anything, I was wanting more of the action.

I loved that Jono wasn't a whiny loser, and really took control as the series progressed without being ridiculously overpowered. My favorite thing about the whole book was his ability that he gained with time. It was a refreshing take, and really has me intrigued to see how it will progress through future books and how it will interact when he comes up against impossible situations.
Oh, another thing I liked was the lack of a cliffhanger. Too many times recently I've been left out on a ledge which has made me hesitant to pick up books. This book felt satisfying and I can't wait for the next one!

Finally the story begins!

After three books of building the character and creating the world Jacob finally unleashes it all upon his readers!

This was a fantastic story that added incredible depth to the story of the dark and the day while completely resetting everything thing we knew to start a new and fantastic journey. Jacob truly does a phenomenal job of setting up the second act and leaving the reader with a anxious questions of what is going to happen next. This is the book we've been waiting for. This is the story we always knew was possible. 12 out of 10 would recommend!

Well this is an interesting little gem!

Well this is an interesting little gem! "The Impossible Quest" gives you a reasonable expectation of just how serious and in-depth the author is aiming at and there is definitely an almost young adult feel to some of the writing and narration. The series seems to be heading to a right direction, Jono is growing up so changes are coming to his life in terms of relationships as well. There is a lot more emphasis on the characters and their development. Jacob Israel Grey has also put more emphasis on developing supporting characters. The writing is as good as ever as is the pacing.

Nothing to dislike and everything to love about a good book! Can't wait for the continuation of the series. This will be one of my favorites in the coming years and let me touch a little on narration as well. Wayne Farrell voice is smooth and not harsh which is good for Jono, because Jono is not an old person.

Still loving this series!

The Dark & Day continues to impress and interest me. The world is big, characters are well developed and rich, and it feels like there is still so much more od the story we don't know. This book moves a bit toward more grown-up themes, but is still ok for YA readers. It isn't as traumatic of a shift as a certain series about brittish wizard with a scar on his head, but I did feel it. Engaging listen!

Narration is honestly knocking this book oit of the part. Our narrator is obviously deeply invested in the tale and immerses himself in the performance. He goes beyond adding accents and even changes tempo of characters speech, sometimes dramatically, to match personalities. Well done!

Loved it

Being a fan of first three parts of this awesome full of magic and adventure series I decided to pick this one as well. The story continues from where is should be and takes the listeners on an adventurous ride. Jono is now changing and so is his view of the world which gave space to author Jacob Israel Grey to add new places in the story.

The dialogues have changed a little bit because Jono is growing now, the narrator Wayne Farrell has narrated the dialogues well just like the other parts of the series. It is cool that the author decided to work with Wayne Farrell for this part as well because Wayne Farrell can change accents as per the character requirements which is a cool thing.

Glad to see that this series is evolving into something bigger, the budding romance also seems to be cool and would be glad to see how it progresses in the upcoming parts.

Overall, an amazing addition to an awesome series. The book ticks all the points that any good magical fiction should tick and yeah, once again the narration is pleasant to listen to.

Another great addition to the series!

Another great addition to the series! Loved every minute of it. It was nice to see the other characters development in this book can wait till the next one is released!

I don’t often give book reviews. That being said, I have enjoyed this series and especially this book. No spoilers. The writing was spot on and the narration lacked for nothing. It was worth the credit. This book reminded me a lot of an action anime but I mean that in the best possible way! The MC had to climb from adversity and fit in and be respected in a new world meanwhile uncovering a mystery and aspiration. It all just hit right!

Book 4 Sadly Fell A Bit Flat

Jono is now 17 and just graduated from Windum. They are given a doomed quest to cage all evil... I kind of feel like the author lost his way. Instead of continuing to figure out what is destroying the world, they get a quest that basically creates a bunch of dull fights, again it felt like the author was trying to just force more action and weird "Croods" like romance into the book. As this series continues, it is gearing towards a slightly old crowd, it started around older elementary and with this one is more middle to high school. The writing style is pretty clean and free from bad language, overly graphic violence, but with this one there is some minor sexual content (that my 15 year-old-son really didn't like) with kissing, LGBTQ relationships, some more blatant banter "I see you can't resist my sexual attraction."

The narrator as always does a fantastic job with the differentiations between characters, the overall acting, and accents.
