"I need a dentist."

Nick, travelling the State capital cities, a new one every week, to take photographs for a forthcoming travel book, arrives in Salt Lake City with a missing filling and finds an emergency dentist to replace it. Determined to stay out of trouble this time, he tries not to be involved with the serial killings which dominate the local news. Another great little story and travel info combined, and although book 11, totally stand alone.

Narration by Joseph Stevenson is, as always clear, well modulated and well expressed. At only one and three quarter hours, approximately, this is a fun story to enjoy during a quite few moments. I was fortunate to receive a freely gifted complimentary copy of Silenced in Salt Lake, at my request from the rights holder, via Story Origin. Thank you. I look forward to the rest of Nick's capital visits.

This one is meh. The mystery starts out feeling more like a horror story than a mystery. As far as Shaggy spotting details or helping out, it’s all over the place. The story repeats several of the previous stories’ plot points, which always feels lazy. Due to the biggest load of BS plot contrivance, he finds his way into the mystery and fumbles his way through it. At one point, a character with his tongue cut out is doing sign language on his way into the hospital and Shaggy just happens to have a deaf cousin. It feels as if the authors had no idea how to tie these occurrences together, so they just didn’t even try, going with the laziest ideas that came to mind.

Shaggy and Daphne are finally ‘dating’, despite the distance. But they never stop telling each other they love each other. It feels incredibly rushed, even fast romance novels aren’t this rushed. They sound like a couple of high school kids who need to reaffirm their infatuation with each other every 20 minutes.

The narration was alright, as always. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything to “write home about”.

A Possible Witness

I am entertained by this series of capital city murders that Troy Lambert and Stuart Gustafson have written. Their project is to write a murder mystery in each of the capital cities of the fifty states. In this story, the protagonist Nick O'Flannigan needs an emergency dental procedure and this causes Nick to become a possible witness in an ongoing murder investigation. I recommend this series without hesitation as each one is interesting and different. Joseph L Stevenson's narration is great and his voice is pleasant. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Nick does it again!

This is the 11th installment of The Capital City Murders series. If you have been following the series, you know that the main character, Nick O'Flannagan, is a freelance photographer travelling on assignment to each of the state's capital cities taking pictures. In this book, he lands in Salt Lake City and due to past experiences in other cities, he is determined to stay out of an ongoing murder investigation that is taking place. However, when he finds himself in need of an emergency dental procedure, he becomes an unwilling witness. hTe story was interesting and kept my interest throughout and the narrator did a nice job with all the characters. Looking forward to seeing the next great murder mystery Nick unwilling gets entangled in!

Another great installment

Another great quick story. The character keeps growing and the other characters as well. There is enough mystery mixed in with facts about what city he is in.
