Inspirational

This book hit close to home. Disappointment in the people who let us down seemed to be a constant in our ministry. We have been through many of the same types of situations as this author. So his spiritual take on this subject was encouraging. We, too, ended up right where we belong. The author shares his personal experience and the answers he found in God's Word. Anyone going through this type of difficult time, in ministry or life in general, could benefit from this book.

The narration was very good.

I think the story in this book is cute and humorous. It all moved rather slowly at times and made my interest wane. In the end it seemed everyone came out okay and it was a happy ever after type of finish. I think I was let down having expected something different.

I was disappointed in the narration. It wasn't what I would describe as bad, but lacked the expression to pull me in. I think I would have enjoyed the e-book more.

I requested this audio book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.

An encouraging listen.

This book is filled with useful honesty in a way that holds your attention. Much can be learned from reading about fellow believers’ challenges and I’d like to think we can gain some life wisdom from their pain, even if it hasn’t been ours. I benefited from the relatability of Ken’s openly sharing the effects of the challenges that he faced and the emotions that came with them. Very few people share the messy truth of conflict in a way that can help others and I think Ken has achieved that.

An inspiration!

I don't want to say that I enjoyed this audiobook, because it was so much more! From the author's own life experiences, we learn how God gave him opportunities to be successful and happy, but it was up to him to make the right choices. In an unapologetic way, Mr. Barnes avails us of the highs and lows in his life, giving glory to Him! So worth every moment!

Inspirational

The author got real in this book and laid it all out. His vulnerability was touching. His obedience and willingness to submit to authority even when he was not dealt with in a fair manner is proof as to why God could use him and his family.

Narrative was well done.

I think this book will speak to everyone differently but it definitely touched me where I needed it most! It was a reminder to me that God’s love for me isn’t based on my performance for Him but my position as His child! Excellent book!
