Jacob is a bully. Malkon would rather read about the past than experience life. Colt is always up for adventure. Three very different boys are forced to work together to survive when they find themselves in another world - a world where dragons, elves, and goblins are real, a world in which they may be trapped forever.

I really liked this story! Young boys who didn't normally get along at all become dependant on each other for survival in an alternate universe. This story is filled with so many interesting twists and turns. It held my very rapt attention throughout the whole book. Jerry Bradshaw does such a beautiful job at narrating this story. He amazes me at the way he can change tones with each character and keep them differentiated! Mr. Bradshaw is a master at bringing a story to life!

This was a fun adventure story with great character development and some sneaky, subtle lessons about the importance of not judging others. Possibly a spoiler, but not of an important plot point - possibly my favorite thing in any book ever was Colt relaying the story of Star Wars in German to help the other boys understand the experience of hearing a story they may know in another language. Pure gold.
