Publisher's summary

When dungeon delvers and dinosaurs clash, who can survive?

Newborn Dungeon Cores must choose what entity they help contain, and that choice determines what monsters they are able to summon. After being executed for crimes forgotten in death, Tira is given the chance to make that choice. Tira chose Acekorah, the Primeval Terror, a being so dangerous few cores will risk trying to contain it.

The danger wasn’t important. Tira remembers dying. If containing Acekorah means Tira will face greater danger, that’s a risk worth taking, because the Primeval Terror walked the world long before the races of Man roamed the earth, and Cores bound to him are able to summon beings from beyond the veil of time.

Now, forged in the fires of Tira's wrath, the dinosaurs will walk the world anew.

Dungeons, Dragons, and Dinosaurs

Firstly, the narration of this book was amazing. It really could not have been better. As for the book itself, it is fun, funny, and thrilling. As with most of the books in this genre, the magic system was needlessly detailed for a book. I sometimes think most LitRPGs are written by failed game creators. However, mercifully, it is still easy enough to follow and the author doesn't drown us in stat spam, so well done there. As for the main plot, I found it well thought out and completely riveting at the end. If there are more books in the series, I'll be heading there now. I've grown to love the characters and can't wait to spend more time with them.

Good story, but...

...not for me. The reason dinosaurs are the dungeon mob is readily apparent. The story is put together nicely but I personally don't see dinosaurs in a dungeon. SBT does an excellent job with the narration and voice changes for each character.

hooray for dinos!

I needed an invigorating listen, and while this book definitely relied on some old dungeon core tropes to make it a dungeon core story, it breathed some amazing life into it!

Slow Start but Gets going

Starts out pretty slow but things ramp up as she summons more creatures and we get to meet the main adventurer cast characters. Very casual and chill reading. Only complaint is why the characters say "I'm oom" instead of saying out of mana. People type oom since it's shorter to type, not say. It's equivalent to saying "ttyl" during a conversation. It's really jarring to hear them use a gaming term when it's not shorter or easier to say in a real life situation.

solid

I do have some criticisms, a few hours from the end i almost returned the book when the MC does a thing that, though hinted at earlier, just feels weird and doesn't really improve the story.

I didn't return it, and the rest of the book is good - so I'm glad i just stuck with it.

SBT crew is amazing as always.

superbly enjoyable concept

Absolutely loved this. Now I'm trying to find a video game where I can design dungeons to destroy puny adventurers!

I want to be a dinosaur when I grow up!

If you have ever loved dinosaurs, then THIS IS A BOOK FOR YOU!

Research: One thing I find irritating in books, is when an author does not research things properly. This book is well researched! somethings are assumed or embellished, but over all what could have been a disaster was neatly averted.

Story: Wonderful flow of character growth, both in levels and emotionally. Not to fast on levels but not to slow as happens in some LitRpg's and GameLit.

Performance: wonderful as always by Annie Ellicott, Jeff Hays. AND the sound effects where there but not overly used as is the case in some Sound Booth productions.

Flaw: I did not get a clear depiction of the connected worlds, but i think in future books that will be cleared up.

Over all: Solid addition to the Dungeon Core multiverse AND I look forward to the next book.

WELL DONE, AUTHOR, WELL DONE.

So good!

I love it, can't wait to see more dinosaurs and mutations.
I may not even wait for the next one on audio. Even though Jeff and Annie are two of the best for narration and voice acting. I may just have to get the kindle version first then the audio version when it comes out to.
