An alien game show. A deadly challenge. The fate of the world is on Astra's shoulders.

Twenty-five-year-old Astra Ching has never sought the spotlight. So when a mysterious black orb appears with a challenge for Earth and selects her to compete in its strange - and very public - game, she's not pleased to find herself a sudden superstar.

The rules are bewildering, and there are no second chances for losers. Yet, while Astra fights to stay alive and save the world from imminent destruction, the people of Earth are more interested in tabloids and gossip, like whether or not she's engaging in a scandalous love affair with a fellow contestant...or the mysterious alien known only as Eleven.

In her struggle to survive, Astra forms tentative alliances with a handful of trustworthy friends. But as the global gossip seeps into the game and contestants are eliminated with each round, Astra's celebrity threatens to become infamy and the line between friend and foe blurs.

Will she emerge from the arena a hero, or just another headline?

I went looking for some free audiobooks to see if there was anything interesting out there that I overlooked. I see this audiobook and read the blurb and think "this might be okay". Ha! Jokes on me because this audiobook is outstanding. It's an intriguing, brain twisting, rollercoaster of a story. I think this book was written sideways. It's a great blend of weird and...other stuff, that you can't stop listening to. I know I got it for free, but it's worth a credit. Give this book a chance, you won't regret the time or the credit spent. I'm heading straight into the next book.

Wow, I didn't expect this to be so good!

I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I had not read/listened to anything by J.D. Edwin before, so my expectations were neutral, but man, were they surpassed, by a country mile. Without spoiling anything not already outlined in the summary, the basic gist is "its like that one episode of Rick and Morty with the floating heads, but not a singing contest and done 1000x better (not the pointless filler), and crossed with Hunger Games" The story starts a bit slow, with a lot of information pre-loading, but once the story starts going, it never really slows down. The twists I didn't see coming, and I honestly cant help but pick up the next volume.

Keri Rabe did an amazing job with the narration, the only criticism was at some points her delivery was not quite in tone with what she was reading, and it came off as a bit wooden. But again, that was few and far between, for the most part I couldn't help listening to more.

Odd, but in a really fun way

How is this book not in the top 10 of any book group? Even a top 100 list.
This book is AMAZING!
I just got this book and its sequel hoping that I would be able to make it through and not be a complete waste of my time.
I absolutely love finding gems like this.
I got this book for free with the expectation of an honest review just to help out an author with struggling sales on a book series in a genre I love.
The premise of this story is that there is a group of aliens from around this galaxy that goes to a planet when the sentient races have reached a certain level of technology and have the natives play this game for the entertainment of the "gods" and the continued existence of the planet.
In the game, the players have to use their imagination to win each level of the game. Which is why it's called "Headspace". And we find out that this is the 33rd planet in our galaxy to have the game forced upon them.
8 out of 5 stars.
Just an amazingly awesome gem that all Sci-Fi lovers should know about.

WOW! JUST, WOW!!!

I liked the way this book went for the most part, not exactly what i was expecting though. Kinda hunger games like. A love triangle, death games, ect. Didn't really like some of the mc's decisions, but to a point they were understandable. Would like to see a sequel.

Hunger games, with aliens
