The story

Unless Oltyx acts to save his dynasty, revenge will win him only ashes. And so he must return to the crownworld, and to the heart of the very court which cast him out. But what awaits there is a horror more profound than any invader, whose roots are tangled with the dark origins of the Necrons themselves.

Necrons

This book is a masterwork of dramatic and emotional storytelling while depicting souless robots, it ya ks your heart right out, and then shoves it back in.

Fantastic deep dive into the lore!

Hooked on this book from start to finish! As a Necron player in the ttg, I was looking for more lore and this provided it in spades. All the way up until the ending it had my attention in it's grasp, and I've immediately purchased and downloaded the sequel. Can't recommend this book enough to anyone even remotely interested in the Necrons.

it was a well written story and i will be happy to pick up its sequel when it comes out.

One of Black Library’s Finest

Unorthodox, is the best way to describe this book. It heavily leans into Necrons as ancient Egyptians in space, takes them out of the whole “orthodox programming” angle and gives a great story where the Imperium is the antagonist. Top 10 BL book.

Amazing

Amazing story. Worried about sequel as I’ve heard bad thing. Only demote was due to certain voices and sound hurting my ears from ork and flayed ones voices
