From New York Times best-selling author Joanne DeMaio comes Shore Road, book 14 of the Seaside Saga.

Salt air drifts in through the windows. Swaying marsh grasses whisper. Seagulls cry overhead. Off the docks, rowboats are anchored in a calm inlet. Beyond, shingled cottages look silver beneath rays of sunlight. Seafood shacks are strung with fishing net and lobster buoys. You're driving on Shore Road.

And every turn off this dusty beach road gets you to the sea. Tucked-away Connecticut beaches are aplenty here, but you could almost miss one. Just a narrow lane forking off Shore Road leads to Stony Point. That lane is nearly hidden by the stone train trestle running over it.

But, look. Seems many of the beach friends are turning beneath that trestle. Some enter Stony Point alone, while others leave together. A salty pickup truck veers onto Shore Road and quickly takes off. Beneath the trestle, another car turns in as a German shepherd gives a bark from the backseat. Some friends wave as they pass each other on Shore Road. Others duck so as not to be seen. Some cruise with the radio turned up; some drive in silence. One has a silky scarf tying back windblown hair. Another wears dark sunglasses to shield the summer sun, and some sadness.

Though Shore Road takes each beach friend on a very different journey, one thing's for certain. It's sure to be an unforgettable ride.

Oh, Joanne...Sometimes I wish you were not SO good at writing those endings that leave the reader wondering and anxious for the characters...Shane...Celia....and Elsa-I am hoping she makes the right choice~which may not be the same as my choice for her. Please write faster, Joanne... Thanks again for the characters that I would love to have for friends (most of them anyway).

...Can't wait for The Wait...

Just when I think I have read my favorite book by Joanne, I’m wrong again. Shore Road was such a great read! I love how Joanne brings real life into each character and it’s all so relatable. Thanks for another great read with our friends we’ve come to love so much. Looking forward to next one.

So so good!!!

Joanne DiMaio delivers again with ‘Shore Road’ the fourteenth book of Stony Point, Connecticut.
Summer is winding down and relaxation is the word of the day as the friends are enjoying the day at a campground for Labor Day weekend.
But all is not fun and peaceful for everyone. Elsa is still dealing with the opening of her inn being on hold. Plus she unexpectedly is receiving the attention of Mitch which she is hiding from Cliff. Celia and Shane are still hiding their feelings for each other from everyone else. Maris is trying to finish her book and the summer lull is over for Jason. He will start his busy rebuilding season tomorrow, but he is also trying to rebuild his marriage with Maris.
The author so deeply intertwines us in her stories that we can well relate to the struggles of these characters who have become our friends. Of course, Joanne ends this book with a cliffhanger. So we have to patiently ‘wait’ for the next in this series. I listened to an early audio copy from the author of this book and thoroughly enjoyed being back in Stony Point. This review and comments are my own opinion.

The End of Summer

A very short book for using a credit. Nothing happens ... just kinda still stuck with nothing of interest happening. Seems like this book could have just been added to the last one. But hey - at least Kyle finally got his truck! Or is getting it anyway. That will probably drag out too. Jason & Maris are getting real old with their indecision. Get back together or not, but just do something. Elsa did surprise me - but poor Cliff. He needs to find someone better that will treat him right.

Nothing really happening
