Book 1 - King Family

This is book 1 in Nix's King Family series and a great introduction to this series. A well written romance that has a perfect balance of sweet, steam and laughs. Perfectly narrated by Chris Brinkley, Amanda Stribling. I loved the dual narration, especially since this book is told in dual point of views so it really brings this book and these main characters to life. I loved the southern accent which gave this listen a small-town vibe. Our main characters are Andy and Wyatt. Andy is the town good girl and Wyatt's a playboy. The thing is that Wyatt has been in love with Andy for years now but made a promise to his best friend and Andy's brother that he always be there to protect her and never touch her. Andy's loved Wyatt but thinks she's only on his radar as a friend. One drunken night and an interfering father change everything. Love the low angst and high laughs. So much fun - I can't wait for more in this series!

A Balanced Best Friend’s Sister Romance

I have been a big fan of Susannah Nix’s books for a long time, but this one is definitely one of my favorites. I adored these well-flushed main characters and their witty banter. I loved getting to know the supporting characters and the town of Crowder. I loved that while Wyatt may seem immature, his choices and struggles are pretty realistic for a guy with his background (says the gal with two brothers and lots of male friends). I guess overall, it just felt real to me with bits of clever comedy thrown in and slow burn and tension in all the right places. And the narrators were great too :)

Meant to Be

This book was fantastic! Great narration by Chris and Amanda. They truly bring these characters to life with every word. You can feel the emotions these two experience. Such a wonderful, humorous and spicy story that I could not stop listening to. Wyatt King is a town playboy and Andie's brother's best friend. These two have always had a secret crush on each other. Neither want to ruin the friendship they have built. I kept rooting for these two to get their HEA. These two had some challenges to overcome. Plenty of angst and humor to keep you hooked. These two have some fun and seriously hot and kinky times together. Wyatt comes from a large family that owns most of the town. Loved how there are so many members of his family involved in their story, it makes you want to know more. Excited to listen to the rest of this series. This is my first book by this author, I love her writing style and will definitely be reading/listening to more.

Friends to Lovers, Brother's Best Friend and more

First in series it stands alone, but you can tell it's part of a larger interconnected universe and there are stories you may want to dig into the backlist for.

Wyatt and Andie have been part of each other's lives forever. He is her older brother's best friend and she's the one he's wanted since high school. But though he's loved her forever, made wishes and dreams, Wyatt can never act on it because of the promise he made her brother.

How can he follow his heart if it means losing his best friend? There's too much baggage in his past to easily make that choice. But the more time he's with Andie, learning that she's never had eyes for anyone other than him, it's a problem he's going to have to tackle sooner rather than later.

The audio was performed by Chris Brinkley & Amanda Stribling. This was a first listen for me for both of these narrators and I'm very satisfied with the experience. The emotional range presented by each as the characters debated their inner demons, the lows of disappointment, the highs of acceptance, love and passion, the joys and the sorrows. There was a lot to experience and it was well presented by both.

Cute story with interesting family dynamics

I started out not seeing any potential between the two main love interests, and it was still somewhat unbelievable by the end, but I was definitely rooting for them regardless.
