This is a dark romantic love story of Danyelle and Ian. When an accident motor vehicle accident occurs and Ian enters her life, Danyelle's life will never be the same. The story is dark and compelling. I liked the attraction between the two main characters.

The book is good overall. It wasn’t my favorite read, but I did enjoy it.

I listened to the audio version and the narrator did a good job. It is a fast listen!!

It was truly hard for me to connect to this story at first. I don't know if it was the narrator, Sharon Robbins, or just the storyline itself, but the book starts off very slow.
I initially struggled to connect with the main character, Danny. She seemed very naive and focused on maintaining her "good girl" status, but I ended up somewhat liking her by the end of the journey. Then we met the male lead, Ian, and I wasn't too sure I liked him at first either, but he grew on me as I wanted to know his secrets.
As the storyline progresses, it's clear that Danny wants to please everyone, but at the same time, she wants to make the mistakes that all of us end up making in one way or another. This story is missing a bit of depth in places, leaving you wondering what certain characters—especially her so-called best friend, Kayla—did or said. Danny's mother is a bit too much, and I think I rolled my eyes each time she appeared.
This novel does have a mysterious side, but it is very mild. As far as the romance goes, it is a sweet, clean, slow-burn that makes you feel happy for both Ian and Danny. There really isn't a whole lot of suspense, aside from wanting to learn Ian's secrets.
The rating is because of the repetitive nature of the text and the extremely slow pacing. I would recommend this audiobook to listeners who like romance but prefer it without the spice.

After listening to the story I didn’t care for the narrator her accent or the way she portrayed it put me off. The story was good it could float a little nicer what is a decent story.

This crossed one off my extensive ebook TBR list. While it is is nice to cross a book off by listening to the audio version, I was disappointed in the narration. This book is unique compared to the majority of the audio books I've listened to, being solely written in the single POV of MC Danyelle. However, just because it is only POV, doesn't mean there aren't a variety of characters of both genders. Narrator Sharon Robbins does a decent job with the female characters, but decimated voicing the males.

Danyelle's life isn't running so smooth this year. Starting with hazy activities New Year's Eve into New Year's Day referred to but not the beginning where this story begins. Things didn't get better when eyes connect between two drivers just before they have a fender bender.

One thing leads to another shrouded in partial truths that only come to light much later in the book. When Danyelle and Ian shift from strangers to lovers the past rears its ugly head.

Things are not smooth sailing when the law gets involved and Ian is extradited back to Alaska. When the actions of others impacts your own, how do you overcome the fallout?

This isn't one of those HEA romances that everything is all roses and sunshine. If that is your expectations, this isn't the book for you. It is a realistic nitty gritty life story that has a bit of romance.
