On just another average day, Jake finds himself in a forest filled with monsters, dangers, and opportunity....
It was a day like any other when suddenly the world changed. The universe reached a threshold humanity didn’t even know existed, and it was time to finally be integrated into the vast multiverse. A place where power is the only thing anyone can truly rely on.
Jake, a seemingly average office worker, finds himself thrust into this new world. Into a tutorial filled with dangers and opportunities.
His new reality should breed fear and concern. His fellow coworkers falter at every turn. Jake, however, finds himself thriving.
Perhaps... This is the world Jake was meant to be born in.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

I was gifted this book through Atheon Audio for responding to a Reddit post.
That being said, this is a straightforward review.
Being in the 'System Apocalypse' genre of LitRPG, the book adheres to the basics prescribed. Nothing unique really, outside of skills and bloodlines. etc.
World building is essentially suspended due this first area being a tutorial. Which means it's an experience grind and I do mean a grind.
Humorless, like a job at KFC or any fast food joint where everyone has quit except you, this book doesn't have a single light moment in it. Just the grind.
I can't really offer a positive or negative review bc it's just so utterly predictable in all ways. If you've read a System Apocalypse book before, NOTHING in this will surprise or delight you.
Another OP MC grinding their way to the top of the chain just to survive their nemesis who is doing the same.

***spoilers***
the explanation of him was super weird. They say he is a person who loves challenges. He just wants more and more challenges, but then he seemed super soft when telling about his background story. It was kind of weird.
Caroline was a waste to be honest. I have no idea why she was even a side character. LOL.
Jakob is cool. Even though I think he was not strong, he at least made sense to me. Even Richard made sense to me. What happened to William at the end? The class structure and race structured systems are no helpful at all. Only good thing is the blood line. I like that. I liked the snake god as well. he was cool
That is enough spoilers for now. The book will have another part in the series which is good, but I still don't see the wow factor. I can wait on the next book, but I have no excitement right now about it. Thanks
B+ for me
