Kanti had spent many sleepless nights torturing himself with thoughts of the day when he would give up on returning to Tish. Old and grey, back-stooped from decades of labor, he would try to get up out of bed, and change his mind. Why bother?

He couldn’t have been more wrong.

He was still young, his pelt still tanned, and his back didn’t hurt when he rose. Everything had conspired to keep the two lovers apart: rivals, foes, distance. Now, he needs his friends’ help more than ever if he wants his old life back.

This, this is the part of the story I was waiting on. Here we see our Kanti go from nervous reluctant hero grow into someone who is more confident and determined to see his strong and bebeautiful wife who believes he is dead.

But it is more than that. We see a character change a system of slavery and misery by just being kind and considerate of others. Such kindness being the key to helping out the tiny residents living as slaves or as incognito rats to the giant Krakun overlords.

And that ending, perfectly hopeful, satisfying, and bittersweet. This is a story that concluded the first series within the Hayven Celestia franchise and I am so glad to be a part of this as my first major furry fandom. All I can say is keep on writing Gre7g.

So far these books have been my favorite to read and listen to this far. The V.A. Piers definitely sold the characters and did them justice in maintaining verisimilitude. While listening to the performance in chapter 55 it had me so enthralled by the narration with the tone that my inner voice didn't get when I read the paperback copy.

One day I hope to read and listen another book that may continue Kanti's journey and growth!

Conclusions are hard. How do you tie up so many plot lines while still exploring new topics? This book right here is how you do it.

Luterman takes what he built in Small world and expertly weaves a long narrative about what you would do to get back to the one you love. Stealing, lying, murder? The story never has time to settle and get stale, instead, it goes in directions frequently. Many I wasn't expecting. Each time the setting changed had me hooked, wondering what would happen next. I enjoyed the sense of adventure this story brought to the series and the interesting social it topics explored.

Prepare yourself for an emotional, wild ride.

I don't know how you could listen to the other two books and not be in love with Piers Ryman's narration. This book is no different.

A fitting end

I Could not stop listening!
A great continuation to Kanti's adventure, and the best voice acting I've ever heard.

this author has a way of drawing you completely into the story. I felt every emotion under the sun while I read this. I literally cried. I held my breath. I cheered! I even cringed some. it even kicked my anxiety up! I think these are all signs of a good writer. and the characters. oh my. connected with them immediately. the details of what the characters were going through were very well-thought-out.

best of the three possibly
