From USA Today best-selling author Leslie Langtry comes another hilarious Merry Wrath Mystery....

For ex-CIA Agent turned Girl Scout troop leader, Merry Wrath, planning a wedding is infinitely more terrifying than the time she was a mole in Carlos the Armadillo's drug cartel. To make matters worse, while plagued by insomnia (brought on by diabolical details that include bizarre things like "boutonnieres") Merry and her cat, Philby, witness a midnight murder next door.

Or do they? With her record of sleeplessness, everyone from her fiance, Rex, to her Girl Scout troop are questioning her sanity. And when strange incidents of arson start popping up all over Who's There, Iowa, and a mysterious woman vanishes, Merry begins to believe her neighbors are foreign spies.

Throw in meeting her fiance's odd twin sisters, late night visits with Mr. Fancy Pants - the King Vulture at the zoo - and a scary sleep study, and Merry wonders if she's in danger of losing her mind...or her life.

Admittedly this style is not for everyone. I love it. I had to laugh out loud numerous times, the humor, the images, this is all quite bizarre and dark and oh so funny. The narrator does a decent job with portraying the different characters. The only thing I don't like about her voice is that in the lower registers it goes so soft that in a car with all the background noises this is hard to hear. But overall this is another weird funny book about former agent Wrath and I'll go for the next one.

bizarre, dark humor, love it!

I love the humor. I'm sure she was once a great spy. with the situations she gets herself into, one has to wonder.

#9 and the writing is still fine!

I listened to the story after almost giving up several times. The ending was ludicrous to say the least. I wouldn’t recommend this book.

Boring and ludicrous

I have enjoyed all the books in this series until this book. I’m sorry but this book is absolutely awful. I’m half way through the book and all I can tell you is she’s getting married, spying on her neighbor and is starting to see a psychiatrist.
The narrator puts me to sleep and has such an uppity voice persona, literally! The voice for the psychiatrist sounds like a Siri robotic voice.
I’ve been trying to listen to this book hoping the story line gets better, hoping for something funny or something to keep me from regretting my decision to purchase this book. Half way through I think I’m throwing in the towel, going to return it.
Definitely listen to the sample before purchasing because it doesn’t get any better!

Painful to listen to!
